| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Copper color; creamy head. Simple aroma, with some caramel, brown sugar, fennel; at times perfumy (I guess they are by-products of the fermentation). Good body strength, huge caramel flavor, a bit dry, some toffee. The hopping is both bold and also lightly aromatic. Simple but enjoyable. riversideAK (2792), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Pours a copper amber color. Go figure. the head goes away quickly with a few small bubble islands 5 minutes after pour. Aroma is a little bit of sweet caramel malt. A little roastiness and a little nuttiness too. Flavor is some citrus hops, a little biscuit, some caramel malt, some nuttiness, and a little alcohol. The hops pretty much take over the flavor of this beer though. They are not super strong, but the other flavors are ever so subtle. It does have that trademark Lagunitas taste as well. Rather drinkable for how much alcohol this supposedly has. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

<ALIOTO’S ALE (LAGUNITAS)>
Had on draft at Alioto’s in the Fisherman’s Wharf in S.F. Nice amber, inviting colored pour, with a good white head. Very nice hop smell mostly. Taste bordered on the edge of great hop flavor and too much hop bitterness, but never really crossed it. A touch over ideal bitterness, but a good, drinkable refreshing beer nonetheless. sammy3D (114), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Pours a nice dark copper with a minimal head. Lush fruity aroma with hints of pine. Black cherry and juniper berry flavors with a nice drying biscuity quality in the finish. The malty sweetness lingers in the mouth. I am guessing that this brew is more likely 7.7% abv considering the nice "warm the belly" effect it has. fonefan (11888), VestJylland, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Bottle. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, pine / grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. badlizard (2386), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Wait, I’m confused. Is it 5.9% or 7.7% ABV? Golden amber with a fizzy white head. Malty aroma with some grainy/bready notes. Malty bready taste with a slight bitterness to the finish. ElGaucho56 (393), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Lagunitas’ most quaffable ale. Not particularly remarkable, but as I said, goes down easy. Pours a reddish/orange tinge with nice head, malt dominates the palate with a nice hoppy kicker. nose of slight piney hops, some citrus. Drinkable considering the abv.
