The aroma is malty with weak citrussy hops. The flavour is dominated by malt, caramel and I also get a weak hint of licorice. The finish is dry and slightly citrussy bitter. Nice balance, but not outstanding, but my husband liked it a lot. 2344 stefanje (950), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA

Mild frothy tan head. Tasted reminiscent of a cross between a india pale ale and an amber ale. Very distinct bitter hoppiness in a full body with carmel and walnuts. Finishes long and smooth. jlf278 (255), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Hoppy, resinous, grapefruit, orange, and a hint of tin. Palate was a bit rough, Overall, very nice, but did not win me over beachbum25 (802), Powellville, Maryland, USA

Malty Belgian type aroma. Roasted malt flavor w/traces of Molasis & Caramel. Kind of sweet, had some kick. Overall; not bad, not spectacular. Long full finish. Alcohol is evedent. pforei (338), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Bottle. Tulip glass. Nice amber orange color with mid-sized head. Similar to a California Common but more on the malt side and somewhat stronger in alcohol content. Smooth. ChainGangGuy (2603), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA

A: Amber-Copper. Thin off-white head.
S: Honeyish and fruity aroma, with distinct notes of peaches and citrus.
T: Honey and toffee upfront. Light floral hoppiness.
M: Medium-bodied. Smooth, but a fizzy C02 keeps the palate squeaky clean. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA

Strong aroma of caramel/toffee malt, and a a bit of floral hops. Flavor follows nicely with a balanced mix of caramel malt and earthy/resiny hops. Palate is medium/full, velvety smooth, lightly bitter, and slightly chewy. Beautifully balanced brew from Lagunitas, and definitely my favorite from them so far. Gorgeous coppery-ed color when poured, accompanied by a pillowy beige head. Very dry overall, with bittersweet finish. Pretty fine brew, the second such I’ve had from Lagunitas.
