Taste is mostly caramel malts with a hint of honey. I definitely have had better with lagunitas but it is worth a try although it is not in the company that rate beer has alternate recommendations. noompa (130), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | May 12, 2009 On tap @ the Ida Noyes Pub; pours a clear copper-amber w/ a minuscule creamy head that is quick to disappear; aroma is mostly hoppy (one-dimensionally so, lacking any real layers to the hoppiness) and sweet w/ notes of candy; flavor is sweet w/ caramel and other candy flavors; nice, round body, ending quite balanced. Perhaps I was too tired to observe any intricacies in this beer, but it seemed rather dull and boring. mmmbeer (752), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2009 12 oz. bottle served in trappist glass- poured transparent dull copper color, slow drifting razor thin white wisps atop the liquid surface for a head, low carbonation. Aroma of a sweetened malt and hops. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt has been lightly sweetened which carries over to the middle, finish glides away cleanly. Hops are abound, which is no surprise for this brewery, but are refined and help to define the brew instead of refining it. Well made. tokyogoat (509), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2009 Pours copper just like the label says. hell, I don’t even know what a copper liquid looks like, i’m actually just taking their word for it.
Smells of hops and sweet malt.
Tastes of sweet malts, caramel, and what i am guessing is amarillo hops. Very yummy, well balanced, and a great session brew. v64 (74), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2009 Title is accurate, copper in color. Small head, very nice malty aroma. Impressive balance of hoppiness with the sweet taste, slightly fruity. Light bodied, a solid ale. SETANTA (581), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2009 Awesome maltiness in aroma and flavor, intense Munich/Melandoidin character, though an easy drinking beer with light body, moderate sweetness, and enough bitterness to keep in balance. A true pleasure for malt lovers. yobdoog (1441), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 20, 2009 I seem to always enjoy this one. Again, no different. Nice balanced flavorful beer. Some hop bitterness to balance the sweetness of caramel and creamyness. Powertrip (193), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
