Nose, mouth, finish, but really smooth. Tasty. Didn’t get the peppercorns, but that’s ok since I’m not after a steak marinade here. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma was chocolate, light caramel, toasted malts and some subtle coffee. Flavor was roasted malts, molasses, chocolate, caramel, a touch of coffee and a bit of pepper with a medium to full body and has a dry roasty finish. Decent stout thelizard (30), Canton, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Updated: Aug 6, 2009This was a gift. Thinnest stout I’ve had in a while (especially since I had the Goose Island Bourbon County quite recently). Pours a dark brown with a perfect, tan head. Extremely malty, delicious aroma. Here’s where it gets interesting. As coyotehunter reviewed before me, it definitely seems more like a Barley Wine in character. It has a slight malt character, but it has an oddly sweet, light finish. Very refreshing actually, and quite delicious. I’ll be looking for more bottles of this.
Edit: Big pieces of sediment towards the end of the bottle, but that never bothers me. jrmac (213), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Not very big for an imperial stout. Fairly thin and drinkable beer. notes of roast malt and coffee. Not much pepper for a pepper stout. coyotehunter (557), , Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Imperial stout you say? Bullshit. Nicely aged Barleywine, youre on to something. Pours a dark brown with not much head.Nose is of chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and burnt malt. Flavor is much of the same, and as an Imperial stout it sucks....but like I said, as a barleymine its dynamite. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Moleasses, brown sugar sweetness and alcohol in the nose. This is a pretty straight forward stout with some dark brown sugar and burnt caramel notes. yespr (12414), Copenhagen O, Denmark
