Bottle. Pours a deep brown, almost black, but with hints of amber. Head is pencil-thin and tan. Light, milk chocolate aroma with hints of caramel and heavy malt character. Roasted chocolate flavor. Thick, but not too heavy. Quite delicious, although the chocolately character makes to sweet to have more than a glass or two of.

22oz bottle shared by my coworker Shawn. Dark brown and a thin tan head. Aroma is fruit and malt. Flavor is bitter and sweet, a little caramel. Not bad but not the style I expected.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is very fruity, especially plums, and rich with malts. It tastes of sweet caramel malt and dark fruit. It’s medium to full bodied and lightly carbonated with maybe a touch of bitterness in the finish. It’s good though rather a strange brew. It’s an imperial stout? Really?

22 oz. bottle - Dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma - coco, dark fruits and alcohol. Flavor - dark fruits, truffles and what must be white peppercorns. Nedds more hops!!! Palate - light/medium mouthfeel with slightly dry aftertaste. Overall - pretty decent but nothing that great. Would try again!!

poured darker than I initially thought. smooth light crisp aroma of some mocha elements. looked like a porter with little to no head. tasted smooth and light but a definite back to it that brought a complexity of dark fruits and chocolate hiddden behind it. smooth palate and the bite comes in the back with the complexity. overal pretty good stuff.

The Dan Journal #252. Tasted 2/17/09. 22oz bomber. Dark and opaque with a deep brown hue. Ring and wisp of off-white head. faint nose with hints of dark roasted malts. Medium to full bodied with a hearty amount of malts. Sticky finish. A big kick of molassis. faint hop profile.

22 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark brown/black with lasting ring and a little lace. Chocolate roasted coffee burnt fruit and pepper aroma. Roasted chocolaty burnt overripe fruity coffee with spicy peppery finish. Medium full body and medium carbo. Tastes like something mysteriously bad got into the finish, and then you remember it’s pepper.

22 oz bottle, via State Line Liquors. Pours a clear dark brown body with a fizzy light brown head. The nose is grainy and roasty with some coffee and light licorice. A little burnt smelling. The flavor is just darn weird. Sweet, slightly vegetal, with some Hershey’s Syrup and burnt caramel. Then finish is downright unpleasant with a sweet rotting fruit taste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of residual sweetness and fizzy carbonation. Don’t know what they were going for here, but I’m pretty sure that the missed the mark, this is just plain bad.
