Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Nov 5, 2009 Updated: Nov 7, 2009Pint tap at ratten hum. Aroma
of old spice, musk, and hay. Tasty hops, hay, and citrus. Delightful. 944play (64), Santa Rosa, California, USA Oct 27, 2009 Cask at Toad in the Hole. Hazy honay color with low soapy head. Citrus and floral up front with a bit of plasticky phenol. Fresh apricot and tangerine shine over a sweet, simple, slightly malty base. Finish is quite bitter and slightly resinous. Even if I had never tried Real Ale Full Moon Pale Rye on cask, this beer might be enough to turn me on to American style ales from the firkin. tmoreau (527), Lombard, Illinois, USA Oct 22, 2009 Sampled from the bottle at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle,IL. for a Lagunitas tapping and sampling evening. Poured a hazy, orangy amber, with a light, bubbly white head and light streaks and dots of lacing. The aroma was a nice balanced combo of citrus as tangerines, and piney resin. The flavor exemplified more of a piney hop bitterness with some supportive malt. The body was medium to light with good carbonation. Another sessionably flavorful brew from Tony Magee esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Oct 9, 2009 On tap at the Great Lakes Brewfest 2009. Hazy amber with a medium off-white head that laces a tad. Aroma of citrus and floral hops with a sweet malt backbone. Taste of sticky resinous hops, citrus and caramel. Thick mouth feel with a mild bitter finish. Narnad (682), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Sep 29, 2009 Sampled at Lundeen’s Brew Ha-Ha 2009. Pours a yellow-orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma consistes of a sizable amount of toasted and caramel malt notes, a heavy dose of pine, resin and a lemon citrus hops nose. Flavor starts off with a really good bitter hop leaf that moves into a lemon citrus bite, lightly sweet from the caramel malt and finishes with a pine, spruce, resin hops bite that is faint. Overall a very tasty beer that lies towards the high end of the pale ale hoppiness. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Sep 26, 2009 Short 12oz twist-off bottle. Light amber , golden color. Aroma of orange zest. Some caramel and butter. Flavor has a earthy malt character. A bit musty. Lots of pine resin hop bitterness. It is OK. I’ve had better from Lagunitas. Very bitter for a Pale Ale. Nena (120), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 11, 2009 Updated: Oct 20, 2009Amber with a big white head. Strongly aromatic with slightly floral piney hops. Flavor has some caramel malt, and a nice citric, spicy hop character. Hoppy enough to almost be an IPA. larryLSB (140), La Selva Beach, California, USA Sep 11, 2009 Poured from 12 oz. Lighter in amber, a bit darker than pale, with a huge off white head. Very hoppy aroma with citrus and pine mixed in. Taste was a bit milder than the I expected, with a nice sweet malty side. Overall a great beer, somewhere between an APA and IPA.
