| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jun 1, 2009 This has to be the least impressive lagunitas brew I have tried... It is not bad just not what I have come to expect from this fine brewery..We know they love the use of hops and almost all of hoppy beers work.. This was is just plain bitter. There is a slight malt back bone about every 3rd sip. Pale ales are becoming to generic these days. it is a style I don’t seek out. My biggest issue with this one was the weird mouthfeel... Very Fizzy and had a sting to it... I am glad I got to try it... And I still love lagunitas beers... but this one was a slight let down rmussman (905), California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2009 Pour is orange in body with an average white head. Initially, champagne active bubbles which eventually disappear. Floral aroma, caramel malts. Simple, but well made. This would be a regular if I was in California. In MN, Summit has the most accessible pale ale. This is slightly better. obxdude10 (1561), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 5, 2009 The Dogtown Pale Ale is definitely one of the best APA’s that I’ve sampled in a long while. This beer had it all. It started with a light amber color and a big off-white head. The lacing around the glass was very generous and sticky. The aroma was a huge hit with me, featuring big notes of pine and grapefruit, with more subtle hints of earth, caramel and floral notes. The body was smooth and plenty drinkable. The flavors were absoutely delicious, with big and spicy notes of hops, pine and grapefruit. Other hints included floral notes, caramel and red pepper. The finish was spicy and dry with a good malty kick. This APA is highly recommended, and has suddenly become a favorite of mine. Now, I’ll just have to see if I can find a case of it around my neck of the woods. Oscbert (549), Sacramento, California, USA

~Nice scent of grapefruity hops. A lesser powered IPA.
~Hoppy taste with mild malts. Again a lesser version of their IPA.
~Light feel. Mild bitter finish.
~Enjoyable Pale Ale, but I rather drink its older brother. 1FastSTi (2569), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Tap. Pours to a clean golden body with a nice white head. The aroma was fairly plain with light grapefruit hops and clean grains. The flavor was most excellent and complemented by the extremely easy to drink palate. This flavor is a nice clean pale malt and subtle hops. This is a dangerously easy drinking beer @ 6.4%.
