I typically don’t thrill over standard pale ales, but this fella stands apart from the pack, perhaps because it is much hoppier than its peers. Anyway, pours a mild copper hue with a fine white head. Nose of citrusy hops. Flavor is heavy on the hops with a some malt thrown in to offset. Nice, bitter finish with a sticky aftertaste. Delicious. JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Lots of lean pale malt base with a fresh hoppy nose. A bit of pine and light resinous hops. Very hoppy up front. A bit of light fruity character (mango, grapefruit) along with a soft piny spice. Lingering, fairly assertive bitterness. It’s pretty nice really. It’s up in IPA territory. Another fresh, hoppy beer from the folks at Lagunitas. ElDuderino (146), Roslindale, Massachusetts, USA

Pours a copper golden body with one finger white head. Nose of floral hops, vines, and green leaves. Flavors of light sweet malts with low residual sugars, bright crisp hops that don’t overpower and some nice light orange zest and scallions. Really a fun beer. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Medium yellow, quit light and clear really, nice foamy white head. Aroma is pretty standard for the style - fruity, a little sweet. Taste is surprisingly really hoppy - sharp citrus and pine, very bitter. Underlying sweet malt, light lively body. I really nice flavourful pale ale. 944play (66), Santa Rosa, California, USA

Citrus and floral up front with a bit of plasticky phenol. Fresh apricot and tangerine shine over a sweet, simple, slightly malty base. Finish is quite bitter and slightly resinous. Even if I had never tried Real Ale Full Moon Pale Rye on cask, this beer might be enough to turn me on to American style ales from the firkin. tmoreau (601), Lombard, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Sampled from the bottle at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle,IL. for a Lagunitas tapping and sampling evening. Poured a hazy, orangy amber, with a light, bubbly white head and light streaks and dots of lacing. The aroma was a nice balanced combo of citrus as tangerines, and piney resin. The flavor exemplified more of a piney hop bitterness with some supportive malt. The body was medium to light with good carbonation. Another sessionably flavorful brew from Tony Magee
