kidmartinek (713), austin, Texas, USA Dec 14, 2007 The best pale ale I’ve had for the style. It pours a dark golden amber color and is not completely translucent. The beer has some balls for a pale for once. Its moderatley carbonated and has a good thick blueish tinted white head. The aroma is mildly hoppy, but a little weak. The flavor is moderately strong and tastes of a good bottom fermented yeast and malt. Very good. The finish is a little bitter and dry but in a good way.
Svesse (1676), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 3, 2008 (Bottle, Ölbaren, Copenhagen, 25 July 2008) Pale amber colour with firm, creamy, beige head. Fruity, floral nose with notes of orange, mandarin and caramel. Very fresh aromas. Fruity taste with mandarin, orange, hints of caramel and balanced doses of citrussy hops in the finish. Fairly thin body, but perfectly balanced and very fresh. Very nice beer. Cobra (1032), In the snake pit, Maryland, USA Jul 26, 2008 My bottle says 6.4% ABV. Anyway, poured out an orangeade color, with a thin, but persistant tan head. Left sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Aromas are piney hops, strong malts, caramel, toffee. Flavors are about the same as the aromas.
Medium mouthfeel, decent body.
