Beer pours a lovely straw, blonde color. Head that dies off quickly. Nose isso very light. Reminds me of pansies and spring right off the bat. Also notes of hop spiciness, raw oats and cookies. In the mouthfeel the feel of the brew is nice and round, very satisfying. Has an excellent body. Man excellent flavor. Lemon, green onions, mushrooms, sugar cookies, raw rolled oats and hops hops hops. The further along I get into this beer the more and more i truly love it. Great offering. Go get it NOW!!! The funny thing is is that this brew and Arrogant Bastard are in the same category. HAAA!!!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2004 Floral hop aroma followed by malty sweetness starts this strong ale. Medium bodied. A little watery but gets more flavor as it warms. Overall, pretty good, but I expected more. Indra (2030), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2004 "New and Improved!" the label reads. "Now with more real beer flavor!" Well, that’s reassuring. I do enjoy some real beer flavor from time to time.
Aroma is somewhat slight but inviting, faintly spicy hoppiness and flowery sweetness mingled with some lightly cookieish yeast. Pale golden color, lightly hazy, with a hugely fluffy, lasting head and incredibly dense lacing. Flavor is lightly fruity, sweet and hoppy but fairly low in bitterness, the hops providing a cleansing effect on the finish, which is in large part refreshing and mild. Some faint lingering citrus. Very balanced profile. Body is medium, the palate airy and lightly creamy. Quenching and tasty. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2004 Big, fluffy white head, solid amber color. Aroma is fresh, floral, fruity, notes of peach, mango, tangerine. Smooth, easy-drinking, rather light in body. An "oat ale", huh? Maybe they contribute to the lightness in texture. A decent "extra pale ale", but not outstanding. And this oat business still has me stumped

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2004 Budweiser in colour. Thin, wispy head quickly disappates. Minimal carbonation, fantastic lacing. Clean, almost dishsoap smell. Thin palate. Moderate sweetness with light acidity. A strong lingering hop aftertaste. Very Pilsneresque (on steroids). carboloader (320), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2004 Pours cloudy yellow. Tall white head, lasts a while. Aroma is corn, yeast, hops, light and ephemeral. Flavor is same with flowery citrus, crisp bittery hop finish that lingers nicely. Some carbonation contributes to the fresh, crisp flavor. Very tasty. A very drinkable beer, although I couldn't identify the oats specifically. An excellent Spring beer that will wisk you into the lighter ale season. Still packs an alcohol whallop! argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA
