| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2006 Aroma of pine wth some mango, and with a pleasant sweet malt undertone. Appears a golden amber color with a small white head and with noticeable effervescence of small bubbles. Flavor is sweet and malty at the start, with earthy floral hops in the middle, and ending with a well-balanced aftertaste. Palate is medium with a dry finish. Overall, a very pleasant IPA, better than expected, and somewhat better than the sum of its parts. Cliff (363), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA

Very aromatic, hello Simcoes. Sweet hoppy aroma, citrus, pineapple, ever so slightly piney. Very nice flavor, again, Simcoes and their respective tropically flavor, along with a good malt backing to hold this together. Nice medium mouthfeel and a great bitter, yet sweet finish. vyvvy (2043), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Sampled with Beerdrenched. What a fine brew from Lagunitas. Pour light copper with a patchy soapy white head. The aroma has simcoe hops, citrus, pineapple, pine, some citrus that is mainly on the some orange line. Medium body with a ton of soft carbonation. The taste starts with Simcoe tropical traits and the others listed under the aroma. The finish doesn’t add too much new, but all of the flavors contained in here are solid and enjoyable. Pretty well balanced IPA. Suttree (2722), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Cloudy orange, thin white head. Clean, well balanced IPA - Crisp, citrusy hops and a smoky, smooth hop base. There seems to be an odd spicy note, as well. Very enjoyable. Thanks, Secret Santa! dwh50 (46), Clay, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 1, 2006 This is hard to describe. I bought it because of the Mother’s of Invention "Freak Out" lable. Very disappointed, will not buy again. I read several reviews and can’t agree with most of them. I discribe it as a slightly cloudy golden yellow, little head and no lacing. I don’t consider it an IPA, not hoppy nor bitter enought. I find it to have an odd dull citrus flavor. The only advantage it has over an American lager is its higher alcohol percent. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2006 A good middle of the road IPA. The light golden color and small lingering head were ordinary and fine. The hoppy aroma was not too strong, not too weak. The hoppy bitterness was the like the rest of the beer. Too middle of the road. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2006 22 oz bottle. Pours a completely clear copper colored body under a two finger off-white fizzy foamy head. Decent retention, with moderate visible carbonation. Aroma is lightly hoppy with a nice citrus component. Malt is slightly doughy with some candy like toffee notes. Flavor is fairly aggressively bitter from front to back. The malt is fairly muted and in the background, no sweetness peeking through at all. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, fairly thick in texture with moderate fizzy carbonation. Finish lingers quite long. Overall, this was a pretty decent beer. Nothing really stand out or unique, but really drinkable. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2006 bottle-thanks to vyvvy for sharing this one! pours light orange with a very clear appearance. some small white whispy head around the rim of the glass. big citric nose-pinneapple and mangos with lots of lemon. some pine in there as well but well accented by the citrus. flavors are mostly citrus, but not as bold as the aroma suggests. must have more dryhops than flavor hops. pretty good ipa that could be a great session beer for the abv. body is crisp and with medium carbonation. finish is dry as it should be. im freaked out!
