Nov 10, 2006 Pours a slightly hazy golden color. Aroma is nice and spicy. Citrus notes as usual. Didn’t care for the taste as it seemed the malt pushed the hops away from being on main player. Overall it’s ok.

Nov 10, 2006 Clear orange pour with a thin white film. Some nice lacing. Some hops in the aroma buts a little underdeveloped, raw. Tastey brew but nothing stand out or worthy of seeking out again.

Nov 9, 2006 what a great idea to have an ode to the mighty zappa.....One day there will be be a brew for the residents, the beatles, and hopefully one day the greatest pop/experimental band radiohead... but for now we have this ode. Pours a clear golden hue with a light white head. Aromas of light pine, a little citrus, a little hintof sweetness. Flavors of reminiscent of the aroma. For the flavor, the bitterness is very sedate. Again, citrus, lemon/orange peel, and some mellow sweetness. Nice, but not what i had hoped. Long live legend such as the aforementioned.

Nov 7, 2006 From the cask at Gingerman NYC -- minimal head with a fairly clear golden color and very little aroma. Initial taste is of sweet fruit and bubblegum with a medium smooth mouthfeel. Hop bitterness was on the low end, so this brew really struggled to find a home style -- definitely didn’t come across as an IPA.

Nov 7, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Slightly hazy golden in color with a medium fluffy white head poured into a shaker. Aroma is fresh citrus hops with a touch of malt. Taste is citrus with a full pine bitterness throughout the taste complimented with caramel and lightly toasted/roasted malts, enough malt to back the hops..lingering bitterness throughout the finish. nice beer, straightforward but hits the spot.

Nov 6, 2006 (Bottle) Pours a clear orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel, and toasted malt. Flavor of juicy/pine hops and malt with a dry, bitter finish.

Nov 6, 2006 Had on Tap-Pours a nice golden yellow with nice white head. Has a very nice citrus piney,almost fruity aroma to it. Nice and complex flavor to it. Very citrus and piney with a nice malt backing and a bitter finish.Very good!

Head is mostly lasting.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (herbs, grapefruit, resin).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Another pretty ordinary hoppy pale ale, not much to say.
