Citrus hop aroma is rather light but present. Sweet carmel and citrus flavors, bitter with grapefuit in the finish. Tasty but doesn’t do much to set itself above any other. wineandbrew (40), Steilacoom, Washington, USA

But, that said, I like Lagunitas so I gave it a shot... The head was nothing worth mentioning as it disipated quickly, and the aroma was very simular to the palate, piney. I thought the beer was overdone with pine needle and weak malts... and as one who "Simply Adores" Lagunitas’s specialty brews, this one didn’t do it for me. RAYBOY01 (1869), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2006 Sweet caramel and toffee maltiness balance, or at least attempt to, the PNW hop bitterness. The citrus seemed to be all pine, grapefruit, and maybe some tangerine thrown in to the mix. A cloying sweetness seemed to pop up intrusively intermittantly and then disapper just as quickly. Decent beer. harrisoni (6946), Ashford, Kent, England

Smoked grapefruit.Nice nettley IPA, lots of citrus fruit, lemons, lovely and soft in mouth. Different. Light nettle citrus version of a PNW IPA, it’s nice. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 30, 2006 Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, biegaman, and GregClow, courtesy of Harry. Medium yellow, medium white head. Very strong aroma of citrus and pine hops. Foamy (if that is a smell? I know what I mean...), soapy, very nice. Good hoppy taste, lovely foamy mouthfeel, tangy citrus hops - dry fruit finish. Spicy finish as well. A solid IPA I really enjoyed. egajdzis (3638), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Poured a copper color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus caramel malts, nuts, and a perfumy quality. Taste of tropical fruits, caramel malts, spices, light tobacco, some grassy hops, and light alcohol as well. probstk (1064), Nepean, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Shared a bomber with my brother. Pours deep golden-light amber with a greenish-beige, fairly persistent head. Strong, green hops on the nose, slightly floral. Med.-light body and med. carbonation. In the mouth, good hops up front, decent bitterness in back. Seville orange, grapefruit and marmalade. A little malt, but pretty low, almost to the point of being unbalanced. Quite dry, which I like. I’d freak out again. luvcasks (178), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Appearance: Burnished gold to topaz wtith a nice white head leaving attactive lacing on the glass.
Aroma:Slightly floral, earthy, citrusy and some resins when cold and some fruitness as the beer warms up
Palate: Medium body, slightly creamy long balanced finish...
Flavor: Tropical fuits, grapefruit pith resiny nice firm bitterness with a very very restrained malt support...
Overall: A very well done IPA... not falling into any of the IPA styles.. not malt forward not bone dry but... just enough hops to keep hop heads interested... My bottle my have been old.... seemed a little dull in aroma... some soapy character as well (Chinook?)
