Aroma is of perfume, wood, pine, and soap. Taste is mostly bitter with subtle malt; the perfume and soap are present. Crisp with a medium body and good carbonation. Ending is mostly bitter with a soapy perfume aftertaste. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Bomber: Pours a clear orange with a thin white head, citrus aroma with flowers, nice mouthfeel with oily texute, starts and ends more bitter, with a long hoppy burn. They should call this a double IPA. SSSteve (2092), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2006 Rich, gold color bordering on orange with a tight, incredibly well-sustained, white head. Lots of tropical and orange fruit aromas with an encompassing sweetness that provides a great foundation for the aroma. Flavor is, oh so nice. Intense, hoppy notes with a solid, cleansing acidity. This was dry hopped to the point of tasting light hop pellets themselves. It is well balanced by a viscous, light caramel malt foundation that persists even with the hop flavor and acidity onslaught. presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2006 Amber with a rich head. Nice hop aroma of sharp pine cones. Crunchy grape nut hop flavour. Sharp and crunchy. Nice but a bit disappointing for a specialty beer. fluids (364), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2006 Here’s to Frank! One of the best composers in the world. How fitting is it to have such a complex IPA suit such a complex composer.
Marshmellowy head that dissipates fairly quickly (within 10 minutes) Orangeish yellow color. Nose is a strong piney grapefruit citrus. Flavor is amazingly complex. Malty, yes peppery comes to mind very very grapefruit sour hop flavor. Well balanced with a kick at the tail of the taste for the bitter hops. Nicely done!! Susie Creamcheese...What’s gotta into ya?? | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2006 Pours medium straw colored, like freshly baled hay, with a 2-finger, fluffy white head. Aroma of heavy juicy piney hops, some caramel malt, and some berry and mangoey fruit. The taste is hoppy, piney, resiny, and fruity, with a sticky palate. I get some peppery mango and tangerine notes from this, and a caramelly finish. Nicely balanced and solidly complex, this one is very good. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA
