Pojurs medium orange-amber, slightly hazy with a large whitish head. Aroma of toasty malts, abundant floral and citrus hops with a bit of dustiness. Flavor is sweetish, again with the noticible toasty malts, hops run the gamut of citrus fruits including orange juice, grapefruit rind and lemon zest in finish. Medium body and creamy carbonation. Pretty enjoyable, but not great. iowaherkeye (1882), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Pours a hazy golden orange with a one finger yellowish white head. Big aroma of pineapple and grapefruit. Aroma of biscuity and caramelly malts. Also a little bit of resiny bitterness. Taste is exactly the same with fairly big bitterness fading to a lightly lingering bitterness and biscuity finish. Moderate-high sharpish carbonation, smooth medium body. Good beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Tropical citrus hop aroma. Has a pineapple aspect to it. Hazy amber with a large creamy, off-white head with yellow hues. Beautiful lace. Initial mouthfeel is that of considerable carbonation and a sharp bitterness that has some similarities to that in grapefruit juice. Pretty well balanced with some good sweetness. Mellows nicely at mid-glass, losing a lot of its harshness. This is a very nice brew with body, character and balance and is a pleasure to drink. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Bottle. Pours a clear light copper color with a white head on top. Aroma is huge with hops, citrus, lemon, grapefruit, and oranges come out the most in the aroma. Flavor is citrus, grassy, lemon, and grapefruit. Finishes off nicely with some malts to sweeten the deal. Very drinkable with a nice little kick at the beginning to bite your tongue. Great beer! HopBackDoc (395), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 8, 2006 What is not to like about this beer, it’s made for the infamous FZ! Great googly-moogly. Pours a honey orange color with thin head. Big hop aroma, fresh citrusy hops. Flavor is massive hops again, grapefruit, orange, grassy balanced by a mild sweetness to make it very drinkable. Silky smooth for having a bit of a kick to it. I could have drank a couple of these 22 oz bombers, but i could only get my hands on two. Frank would definitely approve. wunderbier (1271), Tampere, Finland
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Creamy and off-white, the towering head rests above a light copper-hued body--my first clue that this one might just be more about the hops than the malt. The nose continues to prove this point with a striking hop aroma of grapefruit, lemon and rosewood oil. Adding to the already bright mix are esters of mango and pineapple with a slim malt profile of white bread and fresh sugar cookies. A thin sweetness is displayed up front, along with precursor bitterness and solid tropical fruit acidity. A late bready sweetness dries quickly in to a grand hop finale with a lasting bite. The body is thin for a 7.3% abv beer (this being a good thing, mind) and combines quite well with the slick texture and bustling carbonation. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2006 prett dman good. pored a golden color with a white heat. Anice piney aroma. A really crisp and refreshing hoppy flavor. Nice blancing malts which seemd to be both fruity and grainy. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2006 With Zappa on the label I figure’d this would be a little wild but instead this is just a super solid, clean, very carefully crafted beer. The aroma is a bit zippier than most IPAs, but there is a definite barley characteristic in there. The hops here are well chosen, nice balance of bitterness and crisp grassiness while staying very clean. There is a hint of cold sour mustiness lurking behind the IBUs but it is quickly overpowered by the more than ample alchohol. Another one in the hop-heads canon.
