Nice hop aroma tha has a lot of grassy hops smells going on, with a sublte fruit smell as well. The flavor is decent with not very many complexities, Nothing really special but a good beer none the less. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste is very smooth, sweet, and highly drinkable. Its weakness - pretty light in the hoppiness departmnet for an IPA. A bit stronger in ABV than most standard IPAs, but more APA-ish in overall body and finish. I liked it, but not as a top IPA. ehhdayton (1115), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2006 Pours a nice golden brown with a solid off-white head. The nose is greeted with a fruity, piney, and caramel malt aroma. Initially there is a slight burst of fruitiness that is quickly overcome with the citrus and piney flavors of the hops. The finish has an astringent bitter touch. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 From a 22 oz. brown bomber bottle with a slightly humorous blurb along the right side on the label, no bottled/freshness date.
Poured a clear orangey golden with a foamy, frothy, rocky off-white head that settled into a thin fluffy, sudsy lacing, minimal amount of sticking.
Aromas of pine mingled with apples, pears and citrus, and a light sweet maltiness in the background.
Good, steady carbonation and a crisp, creamy smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Nice, pleasant taste, pine needles mixed with apples and squeezed citrus, sugary and caramel maltiness, the hops reemerge in the middle in the form of a soft bitterness, the alcohol provides a good warming presence as the taste continues, and a pine, apple and pears, dry sweet malty finish.
Along with the first Zappa and the Mothers album, "Freak Out!" is one of my favorite Zappa albums, but I have to admit, by 1973 I’m kinda of done with Frank, I’m not even that fond of the album he did with Captain Beerheart, I do like parts of "Live In New York," and his Saturday Night Live appearance from the mid-seventies is a classic, but well, after 1973, the joke is not that humorous anymore and it is rare that he would actually try to be adventurous after his first 15 years in the music industry. He was a great electric guitar player and music arranger and should be rightfully honored as such.

Nose picked up lots of bitter grapefruit, pine, caramel, and some floral.. alcohol emerges with warmth. Flavor had a medium-high bitter grapefruit and caramel base with alcohol and pine bitterness above... sticky-sweet floral at the bitter finish. Bitterness drove this across the palate leaving a fine impression... very nice balance and this really grew on me as it warmed up. Gachupines (295), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Amber/golden hue with a thick white head which fades away with time. Aroma is of pine and hops. Flavor is mostly hops and pine. Strong malt backbone to balance out the beer. Rather drinkable, pleasant IPA. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 [bottle] Pours a yellowish color with a pure white, fluffy head. Piney citrus aroma. Nice toasty malt flavors behind some citrus hop flavors. Very floral in the finish. Really nice and drinkable, this one has some good character, and hides the alcohol well. A very solid, tasty brew. Zappa rules! A solid brew. Zappa was taught music at a college local to here by a friend of the family, she said he was terrible... I’m drinking a brew with him on it..And I admire his work..even friends are wrong sometimes!
