| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2006 Amber with a foamy white head. Smell had currant, citrus, graitfruit and caramel plus some pinapple. Pinapple was nice in the taste. Mouthfeel was a bit watery for my liking. Overall a little weak in my opinion. notalush (2683), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2006 I had kind of hoped they would make a more "out there" brew to mark the anniversary of this album (an IPA? c’mon guys) - anyway, at least it’s a decent IPA - clear golden pour with well-sustained head - bright, fruity aroma of citrus and mild berries - medium hop profile, with light acidity, some hints of cherry, oranges, bready/yeast notes - finishes with dried herbs, medium dry hop flavor, and some slight, lingering fruit (mostly the citrus) - a decent beer, but hardly worth of a tribute of this magnitude. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Coolest bottle label ever. I didn’t hesitate to buy this and I didn’t know a thing about the beer. Lucky for me its one of my favorite styles. So, it pours out of the bomber with a nice sudsy white head. The aroma is flowery, citurus and I know iIm in for a treat. From the smell of it I thought it would be an Imperial. Suprisingly, the bitterness doesn’t own this beer like most IPA’s. It has grassy and honey sweetness to it. Dare I say a IPA that is slightly balanced. Well priced for a quality beer like this. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Hoppy citrusy aroma. Grassy earhty hops. Malty and sweet flavor. Pineapple and caramel notes. Finish is nice woith a nice and long lasting bitterness. Crisp and refreshing. Medium bodied. Decent balance. Very drinkable. Enjoyable. POD (198), USA

After reading the label, I now consider myself well read on the legend that was Frank Zappa’s opinions regarding beer consumption! Huge citrus/hop aroma freaked me out as I brought it to my mouth for that first sip! The freaky foam head left residue on my upper lip. A huge freakin’ blast of grass hop flavor nailed me typical of a strong IPA. Lingering hoppy aftertaste lasted for well over 3 minutes. This Ale lived up to it’s billing! By the time I finished it, I was freaked and stoked for more! Give it a try if you can handle & enjoy strong IPA;s! elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2006 Mindblowing label, jumped out at me while browsing the aisle and sent me back 40 yrs, passages from the album flowing out as I wandered to the register. The girl at the counter was apparently a fan of this brew, stating that it was "f***king great", with this unexpected endorsement, my hopes were up. I found this to be a unique experience for an IPA, chiefly due to a bit of tartness in the up front flavor array; I would attribute this to a yeast contribution, not a negative but a nice enhancement. Beyond that this is nicely crafted, toasted malt with citrus, grassy hops prominent, an appropriate tribute to a work of genius. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2006 22oz dare I say groovy bottle - Pours golden amber beautiful and transparent with a big creamy white head that stays quite well and laces in layers. Aromas of nice citrus grapefruit, a little pine, some orange notes, and a little fresh cut lawn and just a little toasted malt behind it all. Pleasantly balanced between toasted malt notes and citrus hops. Lots of orange there a bit of grapefruit but it doesn’t go overboard. A litttle caramel sweetness behind the hops. Very good balance, Soft palate with good carbonation and a crisp finish. I really liked this one!
