Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

Pours a clear amber with an off-white diminishing head. Quite bitter with a mellow sweetness. Some caramel artomas. (Caramel backbone, just like a red ale should be.) Fruity hoppyness. Medium to full bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nice dry finish.

Flaske.

Pours reddish brown with off-white head. Aroma of bread, yeast, hops, grass and roasted sweet malts with a bit of citrus. Flavor matches aroma... very well balanced

Draft at Mahaffey’s. I think this is the first American Strong Ale I have ever had, and I am starting to get an understanding of the style. This is a hopped up red. Pours with a small head and lots of lacing. It has a mild bitter finish and is really well balanced. The alcohol is masked well. Recommended.
