Oct 5, 2007 Lots of sweet fruity malt in the aroma but much more balance in the taste. A bold beer! Flavor has hints of an IPA with potent hops and pine flavors. But there are also plenty of malts with caramel and fruit. Feel is silky smooth. Lots of warming alcohol and a unique dark fruit bitterness. This is anything but subtle and is quite delicious.

Oct 3, 2007 Clear orange/copper color with a small head. Good lacing. Aroma of citrus and sweet tropical fruit. Taste is pine and citrus hops with some caramel sweetness, bordering on brown sugar. A little ’bite’ on the tongue, but it stops well short of being bitter. Fairly dry finish. A very well done American hop vehicle.

Oct 2, 2007 Clear dark amber with good rich head. Grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Hops dominate. Alcohol makes its presence right before the strong bitter finish. Medium to full body.

Oct 2, 2007 Amber in color with a very spicy, hoppy smell. Sticky and malty at first, almost sweet, the flavor is all hops in the finish. Very fruity, full of grapefruit and really really really awesome.

Oct 1, 2007 Poured a nice red into the glass. I am always skeptical of "double red" ales. It seems they are rarely done well. This was a huge surprise. Smell was nice soft citrus and hops. Taste was citrus, hint of orange rind, soft and distant malt, with a nice hoppy bite. This was nicely balanced and smooth. Well done.

Sep 30, 2007 12-oz. Man, this is tasty stuff. Pours grainy, murky dark brown with a thick, surging, moussy tan head that falls quickly away to nothing. Leaves sheets of bubbly lace on the way down. Big mango tango nose, lots of fruity tropical hop goodness. Medium body, actively tingling carb. Light caramel on the mid-palate, underneath a nice tideflat of pine and plenty of mango, grapefruit, and citric hop tang. Long lingering fruity hop cling of a finish. Great stuff.

Sep 29, 2007 Aroma is strong grapefruit and a little pine. Flavor is very bitter. sharp biting grapefruit, pine, and a little metal. Decent amount malt balance. pretty good ipa.
