Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

A dark red beer with little head. Aroma is sweet, fruity hops. The taste is the same as the aroma that is like a fruit-hop-candy. Definitely another nice one by Lagunitas. I sure do love their Limited Releases.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish amber with a thick frothy pearl head. Spicy hop aroma with sweet notes. Tastes of malt and caramel with lots of pine and spicy hops. Finishes with warming crispness. Absolutely brilliant! Something with lots of hops that isn’t an IPA or Bareleywine!

Dark amber pour. Aroma of roasted peanuts. Notes of raisin, peach, oak, and caramel with burnt malts and a hoppy bite.

Caramel hop explosion - way darker in color and roastier in flavor than expected - tastes a little like a hoppy scotch ale. The hop flavor reminds me of Sumpin’ Sumpin’ with its oranginess. Nice, different than expected, pretty intense, better than a scotch ale with a little bit of a hint of one.

Pours a dark ruby brown with a thick creamy beige head. Flavor is roasted malts/caramel/hoppy with sweet red taste. Leaves a pleasant burnt caramel aftertaste. Would drink again.

355 mL. Pours more of a dark, transparent ruby/brown with a beautiful three-finger, rocky, dense, beige cap with excellent retention. Leaves sheets and sheets of lacing. Aroma is that strange Lagunitas strawberry cheesecake with herbal hops and stale, nutty flavors reminiscent of a DIPA past its prime. Taste is similar- stale DIPA with lots of spicy hops, herbal hops, a bit medicinal. Drying, bitter finish. Not bad.

Central Market-Plano: Pours a clear deep amber/red with nice beige head. Aroma is filled with hoppy citrus, very aromatic. Flavor pine, a little sweetness, very light caramel, malty, nice clean bitter. Mouth feel is medium body with high carbonation. Overall, this beer has some liveliness to it, I very much enjoyed and would recommend.
