At first look this imperial stout was more opaque that most in the genre. However, it still poured with a nice creamy head. The flavors were an excellent smooth and drinkable blend of chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and caramel. brewblackhole (1383), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2008 Aroma is exactly like a milky way bar, chocolate and caramel, that disapates to mild hopping and alcohol, first sip indicates a very light body, a little and old bitter coffee, almost like there is sour milk in there, roastiness and hops dry the initial sweetness out, aroma much more pleasant then taste carl4beer (401), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2008 22oz bomber. Deep black-brown color, not as thick and viscous as other beers of the same style tend to be. Lots of chocolate and brown/caramel malt flavor notes. Sweet and entirely drinkable, not confined to being a sipper in a snifter at least. The alcohol is nicely covered. The most minimal of hops help keep it balanced as well. Great beer, but not really a contender as far as Imperial Stouts go. hoppopotamus (186), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Updated: Apr 6, 2008a black (not as dark as most IS) beer with a small off-white head. Aroma is generic roast malt with some bready grain smell to it. Flavor is same with a hint of dark fruit (cherry) and perhaps chocolate. Not a very exceptional imperial stout. pintbypint (1010), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2008 650ml brown bottle. Deep brown with dark red highlighting. Head is tan and short lasting. Aroma is chocolatey with a trace of booziness behind it. Flavour is primiarily of dark chocolate. Moderately sweet but with some slight roasty notes. Finishes slightly hoppy (leafy) with light bitterness. Roasted malts show up a bit more as does alcohol. Medium body. Restrained, though drinkable Impy. Strykzone (1484), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Black body with more red highlights than expected. Head is a unique gold / copper color but it has little retention. Subdued aroma of roasted nut. Feel is medium and just a bit chalky and a nice zing occurs on the front of the tongue. Flavor is weak coffee, milk chocolate with a small amount of hop. Would be a nice porter but is a disappointing impy stout. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2008 very dark but not a solid black. think i expected it to be thicker and darker. aroma light sweet malt and coffee. taste wasn’t all too complex, coffee roast dominate with some chocolate lingering in the background, light hop finish. body was medium and lacking for what i want out of an imperial stout. a balanced but simple example of an imperial stout.
