Aroma is very creamy, with vanilla bean, oak, light caramel, hint of dark chocolate. Flavor is fairly malty, touch of caramel, bit of roasted malt, raisens, cream, moderate bitterness in the finish. kmweaver (2463), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 12oz bottle, sample #4 in a blind imperial stout tasting. Pours a tea-like, reddish-brown color; light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Tea-like malts, dried fruits in the aroma. Medicinal, cherry and tea and dried fruits; completely odd; almost like a scottish ale or hopless barleywine. Odd. Dough and dried fruits in the finish. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Bottle. Pours like a Coca Cola. Fizzy body, and a very carbonated fizzy tan head that slowly falls back to earth. No lacing, really. Aroma is weak and muted. Chocolate, some caramel. Flavor is warm chocolate, banana, green apples, roasted malts. Still though, very weak. Soft, a bit flat. As boring as an imperial stout can get. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Doesnt look as thick as an imperial stout should. Faint roasted chocolate aroma, kind of weak. The flavor is where this one shines through, roasted chocolate and coffee with a light feel. Not as heavy as other imperials, but thats not necessarily a bad thing as this beer is easy drinking. DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2008 Overly beaten up is this beer. Nice color and flavor with some nice roasted malt. The only problem is that it has almost no aroma at chilled temperatures. Leave it sit awhile, then tell me what you think. I’ve never had any complaints. Nothing spectacular, but a very good representation of the style. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2008 Light, somewhat viscous black pour. No significant aroma beyond roasted-ness. Nice malt flavor with simple chocolate. The most basic Imperial Stout I’ve had. MarkBarnes (266), Waterville, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Feb. 4, 2008; 22 oz. "bomber" purchased for $3.99 at Chanatry’s Market, New Hartford, NY. First impression is that this is too light & thin for an Imperial. The 8.2% ABV is very well-hidden within a mild-chocolate theme. Smooth, easy to drink & wholly-inoffensive, this could be a dangerous session brew. alexsdad06 (1081), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a deep mahogany color with a good sized beige head after an aggressive pour. The aroma is roasted malt, sweet chocolate, and sightly hoppy. The flavor has decent roasted malt character with a slight amount of bitterness. There is some sweet chocolate flavor and a touch of hops as well. This is a bit thin for an Imperial stout. It is however, silky smooth and easy to drink. I think this is a decent brew, just not an Impy. I agree with others that at $4 a bomber, you could do alot worse.
