Commercial Description:
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of theay, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrphagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, wierd, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a deep mahogany color with a good sized beige head after an aggressive pour. The aroma is roasted malt, sweet chocolate, and sightly hoppy. The flavor has decent roasted malt character with a slight amount of bitterness. There is some sweet chocolate flavor and a touch of hops as well. This is a bit thin for an Imperial stout. It is however, silky smooth and easy to drink. I think this is a decent brew, just not an Impy. I agree with others that at $4 a bomber, you could do alot worse.

Hard to knock a 4 buck bomber from a solid brewery. Aroma is fairly negligible, and the deep brown body is very much too thin. It comes across like a slightly amped up porter rather than an impy stout. Regardless, it’s decent. Malty and just a touch sweet, with some hops to the back.

dark brown pour with a little red tint to it. smoky, coffee, chocolate aroma. rather thin looking for an imperial stout. a good balance of sweetness, but comes off a little weak overall. pretty drinkable, but not so exciting.

Slight sweet aroma, a touch of roast there. Pours a dark black, with red highlights (when held up to the light), with a large tan head. Slightly sweet flavor, touches of sugar, vanilla, and dark fruits. Slight bitter finish. Not the best Imp. Stout, but for $4 a bomber, not bad at all.

Pours dark brown/black with a smallish light brown head. The smell was not very heavy on roast or chocolate, but more of dark fruits and sweet molasses, with just flutters of roasty malts in there. The taste had more of those characters than the smell as it was decently roasty on he palate. You still definitely get some dark fruits in there mixed in. Medium bodied for an impy, and not overly flavorful. Just mediocre at its finest.

Bottle. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma of light roast, chocolate, caramel malt. Flavors of milk chocolate, light caramel malt...perhaps a bit of malted milk balls. Medium body, bittersweet with a bitter sweet/roast finish. Not bad, but not all that terrific.

Very nice and very drinkable for an Imperial stout. Lacks a bit of that Imperialness that some have but it’s still very nice and very warming especially since it’s cold outside.
