Dark tan average size head. Aroma of roasted/toasted malts, caramel, dark fruits. Flavors of the same. Kind of thin...was expecting more from a Lagunitas Imp Stout. hopdog (5608), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2006 22oz bottle acquired in trade with beerhandy (thanks!). Poured a dark, dark brown with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of smoke, lighter dark fruits, and roasted malts. Tastes of smoke, roasted malts, light dark fruits and light chocolate. Both the aromas and tastes on the lighter side. Thinner body. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2006 Dark reddish brown-colored body, but it is too translucsent to be an imperial stout. Even the head is off-white, and much too light in body for an IS. Not much to the aroma either, unfortuneately, some light, roasted malts, maybe a hint of cocoa. The flavor is very thin as well. Watery even, definetly nothing imperial. The flavor is of roasted malts, and hazelnuts. Essence of sweet lactose - this is much more like a sweet stout than any other types of beer. notalush (2681), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 9, 2006 Imperial stout? I’ve seen brown ales that allow less light through them - lightly spicy aroma (cinnamon, nutmeg), with hints of milk chocolate, burnt coffee - thin body/mouthfeel - a light milky sweetness - some strange, bright, berry-like fruity esters - fairly high bitterness on the back end - not true to style at all, which isn’t really bad, but regardless of what this beer is trying to be, it just isn’t all that impressive. kharaku (5), USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2006 A pretty traditional Russian imperial stout. A bit low on the alcohol content, but still pretty strong and tastey. The after taste was a bit bitter but then I guess that’s how an Imperial Stout should be. Though I prefer less bitter in my Imperial Stout. SSSteve (2090), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2006 black with orange highlights. no head. aroma is dark but not overly strong. more hoppy than anything. flavor is very hoppy. medium bodied. roasty at first turning hoppy in the finish. hints of maple syrup and chocolate. very smooth. wxman (588), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Pours a clear very dark garnet, not opaque, but you have to hold it up to substantial light to see through. Has an OK pale tan head. Has a chocolate syrup aroma with some vinous qualities. Chocolate/coffee/burnt malt taste you’d expect. Some dry red wine notes evident. Reasonably well balanced. Alcohol warmth comes through after the swallow. Not a prize-winner, but a pretty decent imperial stout. duffman462 (162), Gainesville, Florida, USA

I didn’t find anything about it that indicated that it was "imperial." Small head, flavors of chocolate and toasty malt, and a little hop too. Body had sort of a watery feel which I didn’t care for. Overall a good beer, but kinda boring.
