Commercial Description:
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of theay, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrphagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, wierd, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

Its beige head diminishes quickly, & isn’t nearly as tan as other imperial stouts. In addition, it’s also thicker & sweeter than most other imperial stouts.<!-- br --><!-- br --> It has a very bland, non-distinctive taste, & smells sweet, almost too sweet, like a barleywine would. On the other hand, however, it was <!-- em -->very<!-- /em --> drink-able; you’d never realize it was 8.2%.

Bottle courtesy of wohlfs. Black but somewhat transparent, more like mahogany to the light, almost no head only film. Very nice blend of chocolate and licorice in the aroma. Flavor is very watery chocolate and faint licorice, then falls completely flat. Very thin on the palate.

This beer pours a dark brown almost black color with a large tan head that dissaptes quickly. The smell is very deep raosted almost coffee like and the taste is just the same smoked malts and cooffee with chocolate flavors. This is a very good beer that I will drink again! Cheers!

"Ho hum, Poured a dark brown tan head lacing wasn’t great. Aroma was strong coffee. Flavor was flat line coffee and some chocolate. Mouthfeel was a little thin for this style."

Poured from a bomber a dark mahogany with a small tan head that left minimal lacing. Aroma was of chocolate, some dark fruits, and hops. Flavor was light bodied with bitte chocolate, coffee, and hops.

From bomber. Pours a deep, dark brown with a hint of ruby and a coffee head. Hoppy nose, with choco and roasted malts. Flavor of chocolate, with a smooth, bitter finish. A thin body keeps this one down.

Gputty brought this bomber by to share with me. Deep, dark garnet pour, small mocha head. Roasty malt nose, some coffee and bitter chocolate. Deep, intensely bitter chocolate and coffee flavors. Body was a bit thin, but pretty good overall.

Bottle. Dark reddish-brown beer with a nice mocha colored head. Light roasted malt aroma. Smooth roasted malt flavor with lots of piney hops. Some berry fruitiness. Balanced flavor with malt and hops blending in the aftertaste. Not a typical imperial stout.
