Commercial Description:
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of theay, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrphagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, wierd, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

22oz bottle via trade with Degarth - Thanks Joe! - Pours dark brown with a creamy offwhite head that stayed pretty well and laced the sides of the snifter. Aromas of light milk chocolate, coffee and some light hops. Flavor is about the same. Quite simple really and one dimensional. Palate is medium bodied.. Nothing imperial about this stout though.. Seemed to lack in malt, and flavor

Nice milky truffle aroma; mild flavor with sweet chocolate and grapes over a thin espresso base. There isn’t a whole lot of hoppiness or boldness here, the palate is rather thin. It’s pretty sweet and cloying as it warms. The flavor hues hold alot of promise, but it needs more of everything. Dissipointing offering from such a quality brewer.

Looks like a stout should. Aroma was heavy on the coffe and roasted notes. having had their seasonal Capp stout the night before I had to doulbe cheeck that I actually had the 2 diffrent beers. Quite the clone of the cappichino stout, or vise versa, was unoriginal from the brewer. Missed the heat found in most impys

65 cl bottle. Very dark brown colour allmost black. Little roasted aroma with hints of coffee and chocolate. Light flavour of roasted malt. Ends up light and easy to drink for an imp. stout.

Not an entirely bad stout that went down nicely, it really wasn’t a strong stout by any means. That’s not to say it wasn’t bad, because it wasn’t. Nice tan head, aroma of roasted malts, some vanilla and chocolate. Rather thin in the mouth with a wine note while finishing. There are better stouts, so I’d rate this one as possibly a craft for beginners. Nothing too overpowering, just right to begin the evening."

Pours with a frothy dark brown head on a dark brown, almost black body. Sweet chocolaty aroma with some roasted malts. Sweet chocolaty body with some toffee and molasses. Relatively thin body.

(Bottle 65 cl) Very dark brown - close to black - with a reddish hue and a rather crude, off-white head. Sweetish, roasted malt aroma. Medium body with hard roasted malt that doesn’t leave the usual bitterness. On the contrary this is quite sweet. Nothing wrong with this beer, but it’s just not very complex. 160106
