| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2009 Lagunitas Imperial Stout is a very dark brown (almost black) beer with a nice tan head. The aroma is sweet with roasted malts and chocolate. The flavor mimics the aroma. This beer has a great finish and is surprisingly strong. douglas88 (1602), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bomber from Evanston, Wyoming. Pours a dark toffee color with a nice light brown head. A pretty hoppy aroma, some milk chocolate and alcohol also. The flavor is initially very hoppy, slightly bitter, lots of milk chocolates dominate. Light roasted flavors and cocoa. Very easygoing and nice. A nice palate as well. GJF (501), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2009 This is a unique stout (perhaps not true to the "imperial" label, but can’t say I care). The aroma is quite sweet with some alcohol warmth. Flavor is roast, caramel, chocolate. What I love is the body on this, incredibly light for how much creamy flavor there is, almost whipped-like. Quite a unique beer. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Pours cola brown with a nice off-white head. Nose is earthy cocoa, chocolate, and some ripe dark fruit. Flavor has some fruitiness to it, dark malt, milk chocolate, and a mellow does of a few milligrams of hops. Not bad. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Dusty bottle, age unknown. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Lots of fruity malt with sour cherry and chocolate. Dry chocolate flavor with oak and cream. Caramel malt and bitter coffee ground notes. Hoppy finish with bourbon. Pretty good, though thin RIS. gpekar (226), Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Poured a deep mahogany color with a bit of light allowed to pass through, with a light brownhead that reduced rather quickly. There was only a mild chocolate aroma. There was a lightly sweet flavor and more on the lines of a milk chocolate. The flavor remand toward the mild side and really didn’t build or change character much. The finish left a bit of chocolate on the palate, but again it was mild. This was a nice easy drinking beer with nice flavor. arrogantb (701), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2009 22oz bottle $5. Not black surprisingly, dark brown and transparent red when held to the light. Smells like dark grains and tootsie rolls, sweet. The flavor is more tootsie rolls (I get this from imperial stouts sometimes) and a creamy graininess. The mouthfeel is a little thin for my liking but this beer was worth the money I spent on it.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. One of the thinnest imperial stouts I’ve ever had. Might as well be a porter. No body. Some roast. Little hop presence. Not impressed, and I know this brewery can make better brews than this. Actually made the mistake of trying to age this one. Major disappointment.
