Commercial Description:
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of theay, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrphagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, wierd, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

Thanks to JaBier for sharing a bottle. This brew is a very dark brown, nearly black color with a medium thin and somewhat fizzy khaki colored head that dissipates quickly. Sticky rings of lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt and molasses and a bit of weak coffee. Medium, dry body with flavors of sweet malt and chocolate, as well as mild coffee and hops. The finish is thin for an Imperial Stout, with a lightly bitter coffee and malt aftertaste. Overall this beer is pretty underwhelming.

Bomber shared amongst some new found friends. Lightly roasted malt aroma with some green hop notes and a hint of coffee. Dark brown pour, thin brown head, and mild lacing. Smooth and easy going, I prefer a chewier stout. Roasted nutty flavors coupled with light chocolate and coffee. Balancing bitterness for a stout. It’s OK, but we all could sense the disappointment in the kitchen that night.

22oz bottle served in a Duvel glass. The body is dark brown, though not nearly as dark as most imperial stouts, topped by a diminishing khaki head. The nose is of dark fruit, molasses, and brown sugar. The flavor is reminiscent of a good doppelbock, raisins, plums, nuts, and brown sugar. Not very stout like at all. The mouthfeel is sort of thin but somewhat oily at the same time. I’m kind of at a loss on this one. On one hand I think it tastes good for what it is, on the other it certainly isn’t an imperial stout. You can’t really beat it for the price though, I only paid $3.69 for a bomber of this.

Blind Tasting Transparent and watered down appearance in the glass. Thin, pale white head. Crisp malt, hints of chocolate, slight roasted nut in the back of the mouth. Filmy and weak palate, watery aftertaste.

Pours a dark brown small mocha coloured head. Aromas of chocolate fudge, caramel, and cane sugar. Tastes like a Fudgee-o in liquid form. Chocolate fudge very prevelant and some caramel. Really nice beer.

Dark pour with an average head. Aromas and flavors of dark roasted malts and touches of burnt coffee. Not too bad

Bottle. Pours a brown body with a tan head. Sweet and simple, light cherry fruit, caramel, roasty with light smoke. Decent and plain the way through.

Molassess off the top, pours syrupy brown with decent head. toasty malts with a sugary roasted caramel vibe. Missing a robust quality for my liking of the style as I feel this beer falls a little thin. Still not bad
