Commercial Description:
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of theay, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrphagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, wierd, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

Dark pour with an average head. Aromas and flavors of dark roasted malts and touches of burnt coffee. Not too bad

Bottle. Pours a brown body with a tan head. Sweet and simple, light cherry fruit, caramel, roasty with light smoke. Decent and plain the way through.

Molassess off the top, pours syrupy brown with decent head. toasty malts with a sugary roasted caramel vibe. Missing a robust quality for my liking of the style as I feel this beer falls a little thin. Still not bad

Mixed aroma of roast, black coffee and hops. Opaque dark with a litle bit of head. lavor surprisingly thin--you have the roast, and its blaanced enough to lose its harsh edge, but nto much extra flavor, other than the hops, which have a fragrant flavor that doesnt mesh with the roast.

22oz bottles. Dark red? pour. Not very dark for an imperial stout. Kind of smells like a barleywine. Some light roastyness not big on flavor for an impy, more lke an old ale maybe. Strange.

So thin and weak and watery and about the farthest thing I could imagine from Imperial. Not an awful beer, but not worthy of the style name at all.

Looks the part but is a little weak and thin for a true Russian Imperial. Nontheless it was a tasty bottle.
