| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2009 As the numbers go, I just love this style and this example doesn’t disappoint. Aroma affords a hint of chocolatey/fruity sweetness. Not much head or retention. Flavor is like many an IS that I’ve had; this one has some woody character that I’ve found in other ISes. Finishes full and crisp, a bit woody.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2009 22 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, raisins, and a hint of booze. Dark fruit upfront with some roasted malt on the finish. Medium bodied. It’s a good enough Imperial Stout, and the price is great (only $3.99), but there are certainly better choices for a little more money. Slipstream (760), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Dark pour, very light, fruity aroma. Pretty sweet molasses flavor, with a bit of coffee and buckwheat honey. A malty and solid brew, but not one of the better imperial stouts. coldbrewky (730), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Bomber from the rip and run. Pours an oily brown black with a light espresso nose. Body is full and slick. Robust malts are mostly chocolate and a hefty amount of black patent. Strong finish doesn’t waver much from the main body. Easy drinking, mmmmm...shoulda bought two. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Pours an opaque brownish black with a medium-sized creamy light brown head. Aroma is of sweet malts and a little cherry. Simple but not bad. Again, the flavor is simple; mostly all malt and a touch of fruit. Maybe a little cheap coffee in the body. Medium carbonation, thicker viscosity. Average mouthfeel overall. About what I expected: Not a great impy, but enjoyable to a degree. Overall, good. Unibonger (53), Mount Shasta, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Pours a deep black, little head or retention. Black olive and/or soy sauce aroma, no hop presence or its nullified by the first. The black olive/soy sauce is transferred to the tongue with a light malty sugary flavor. Taste is vanilla, chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. Nice creamy texture. Somewhat lacking though. OldMrCrow (1194), Seattle, Washington, USA

With a bit of age on it, this one comes off thin and cardboardy, albeit with a smooth mouthfeel and nice coffee and chocolate flavors. GoBlue (102), Falls Church, Virginia, USA
