A_R (271), Georgia, USA Mar 9, 2008 Very dark with just a glimmer of red light peeking through the glass. Very little head. Good and strong chocolate malt and sweet coffee flavoring.
smith4498 (258), Miami, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2008 Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma of roasted malts. Mild sweet burnt flavor with some coffee and chocolate. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation and a creamy mouthfull. Good for the price. Cybercat (374), USA Jul 14, 2008 Aroma is strong, of roast (not burned) coffee with an undertone of unsweetened chocolate. It pours a dark mahogany with a thick tan head. The flavor does not measure up to the aroma’s promise, being about average for a stout and having less smokiness and chocolatiness than the aroma, but is still palatable and pleasing, and has a definite hoppy tone. Texture is smooth and a teensy bit thin for a stout. Worth a try nevertheless. ucusty (803), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle from case and keg in Boca. Dark brown porn fizzy brown head with zero lace. Malty aroma. Thin bodied mouth-feel with chocolate, malts, and some hops. This RIS is definately missing somethhing FLnative80 (170), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. 22 fl. oz. Very dark brown with tan head. Aromas of chocolate and licorice. Medium body, but thin for the style. Flavor is similar to the aroma, but with a strange tartness. Although its high ABV is well hidden, this beer lacks. Dorwart (1588), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2008 Thin light brown head of fine bubbles. Sweet malty aroma with a bit of raisins and caramel. Very little of the roasty or chocolaty aroma that you would expect. Color is a very dark brown. Medium bodied with more sweet malts, caramel, a bit of smoke, more raisins and a hint of anise. Lacking in flavor and mouthfeel. Decent bitterness late swallow. Finishes sickly sweet with a bit of lingering bitterness. Not a very good imperial stout.
