JoeZasada (89), Beaumont, Alberta, Canada Sep 7, 2008 Pours a red amber colour... medium white head... good malt flavour, with an outstanding strong balance of hops... definitely one of the best american IPA beers you will ever have.... DocHop (188), College Park, Maryland, USA Sep 7, 2008 Pours a crisp, clear amber with a medium off-white head. Wonderfully sweet aroma of hops, orange, caramel malts. The initial sweetness is fantastic, but the hop finish is just off. the bitterness isn’t really there and and the taste falls off into something a little bland. But the body is smooth and the caramel malts shine through. arondee (66), USA Sep 6, 2008 Poured orange/red with a medium sized foamy white head. It smells of fruit, citrus, a little bit of hops. Taste is not very bitter, kind of an earthy hop taste. The aftertaste doesn’t linger long and this would make a good session beer. It seems like it missing something that could make it even better. emacgee (1055), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours a copper orange with a one finger creamy light yellow head. The nose was very resinous and hoppy, sweet, citrusy, lightly piny and earthy, spicy, mandarin orange. The flavor is mostly earthy herbal hops, lightly citrusy, some pink grapefruit. The mouthfeel could have been more substantial. maugus4ever (43), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours copper with a thin off-white head. Has a sweet fruity aroma. Nice flavor that has a little more malt than I expected for this IPA, but the hops balance out these malts nicely and leave you with a bitter finish.
