Pours a fine, copper-amber with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is surprisingly malty, light caramel, slightly grainy. Fine fruity hops as well. Medium carbonation, fair dry mouthfeel. Flavour has fruity hops, dry pine, oranges and grapefruit. But it mostly taste and the beer feels to fat, compared to how crisp I’d like it. Aggy360 (115), Anchorage/ Vista,CA, Alaska, USA Jun 7, 2009 Pours a clear golden orange with a very thin, non-lasting white head. Not much aroma but there was a little sweet malt, and slight hops. Taste starts sweet, for just a moment. It then goes to a citrus hop flavor with some good bitterness. Finish is bitter. An alright IPA but not something to rave about. trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Jun 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice yellow golden color and a large white head. The aroma is all hops, and the taste follows. Pretty nice balance, nice malt body and big hop feel. The only knock is a thinner palate. Overall, a nice deal and a nice IPA. CheersMate1 (770), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 3, 2009 I thought I had rated this before? Oh well. Anyways, good looking IPA. NIce fluffy head that doesn’t fade away quickly. Orange/caramel brown in color. Looks pretty good. An awkward hop aroma. This pisses me off. I have had a few IPAs that had a tea flavor. This is one of them. The Hoppin Frog Imperial/Double IPA was just like this! An almost tea-like aroma. There are some hops, but there is this sweet flavor that improperly balances the beer out. A very sweet caramel taste. Just lacking in hops. A semi-smooth beer, but overall, a beer that doesn’t come close to Lagunita’s standards. What happened with this one? mrhoppy (209), Santa Clara, California, USA Jun 3, 2009 Folks this is your standard well made LIGHT IPA. Nothing impressive but none the less an IPA. WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jun 2, 2009 Pours a hazy orange color with thin white head. Faint aroma with notes flowers and apricots. Flavor is lots of citrus hops that give way to a ridiculous amount of bittering hops in the finish. Watery mouthfeel. OK, but nothing more than that. italarican (157), Astoria, New York, USA Jun 1, 2009 Draft. Poured a deep copper with ample thick head. Smells very hoppy. This one taught how great an IPA can be when it’s fresh! Bitter hops, pine, and malt flavors. Bitterness is not overdone and just about perfect. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA May 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a creamy offwhite head. leaves some lace on the glass. notes of sweet malts, caramel, some grassy hops. Well balanced. I liked it.
