SETANTA (581), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2009 Fantastic Cascade aroma and flavor, but milder bitterness which I appreciate in an IPA that I want to drink more than one of. Citrus, pineapple, a touch of sweetness, and dry to accentuate the great hop flavor angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA May 2, 2009 Bottle. Golden brown pour body underneath a fizy white head with good lacing. Aroma of pine hops, exotic fruits, and earthiness. Flavor was fruity hops, pine, earth and dirt. Pretty good IPA. BMan1113VR (2755), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Apr 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours with a clear, copper body and covered by a fluffy, barely off-white head that leaves decent lace. Aroma is pungent with pine C-Hops, caramel, dust and lightly estery. Taste is pine hops, light citrus, caramel and tea. Creamy bubbles and mouthfeel. GranvilleTim (465), Granville, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2009 Reddish-Copper pour with white head. Malt and little hop aroma. Malt flavor is more prominent than anything else. Gives a dry aftertaste and leaves a nice malt flavor. Well-balanced beer that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Drank it right out of the cellar(55F). Could of been a little cooler, but very tasty anyway. foosnbrews (33), Parker, Colorado, USA Apr 25, 2009 Beer poors golden with a nice white head. Aroma is subtle but has nice notes of malt and hops. The flavor is enjoyable. I was a bit suprised expecting a lot more hopiness but the beer was extremely drinkable. Flavors that came out were a bit of malty sweetness with citruis and grapefruit notes. Palate was nice with a bit of stickyness. Overall the beer was good. This beer would be something I would recommend as summer IPA that you could have a few of. Snot19kilo (81), Oakwood, Illinois, USA Apr 24, 2009 Updated: May 4, 2009Pours gold. light head no retention. no lace.
Aroma- hoppy, spruce grass. Taste is grassy, alcohol and falls to a bitterness. Finish is strong bitter that lingers. I’m not a fan of IPA’s. Case (29), Germany Apr 22, 2009 Bottle from Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam - one of the incredibly rare places in Europe where you can buy some US craft beer to try.
Pours a beautiful deep clear orange with minimal head that quickly disappears, leaving a fine lacing. Strong sweet hoppy aroma, chewing gum, pine resin. Taste starts out quite sweet and malty and then gradually a bit of grapefruitish hops comes through. Quite herbal, pine trees and caramel. Very flavourful for a beer of such moderate strength. Low carbonation but crisp mouthfeel. Clean smooth taste but a bit too sweet for me with not enough hop bitterness. hogan873 (317), Joliet, Illinois, USA Apr 20, 2009 Golden amber body with a thick lasting tan head. Nice aroma of pine and citrus, very fitting for an IPA. The palate is a bit light, but pretty smooth. The flavor is not quite a good as the aroma would lead me to believe. Biscuit malt sweetness up front is quickly pushed aside in favor of bitter grapefruit and a hint of pine. Not much aftertaste, just a bit of bitterness. A decent IPA.
