canary dog (441), Rutland, Vermont, USA Feb 28, 2009 12 oz. bottle at Union Jack, Arlington VA. Overall a run of the mill, but decent craft-brewed IPA. Good bitter IPA punch like Smuttynose. Body is thin, however. Would like more fullness. BroSpud (583), , Massachusetts, USA Feb 27, 2009 12oz bottle. $2.10 Julio’s Liquors. Very hoppy and citrusy. A good but not great IPA. LtDan (471), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA Feb 23, 2009 A little bit of citrus and pineapple in the aroma. A little bit of bitterness, a little bit of malt. A bit on the watery side. It’s almost like a ’lite’ version of what could be a really tasty West Coast IPA. BVery (446), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Feb 23, 2009 Updated: Jun 29, 2009TAP: at Stub & Herb’s, 2.22.09. Clear amber pour, mild head, pine hop aroma, well-balanced, dry on the finish but not bitter. Not much distinct flavor, but good malt backbone. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 21, 2009 Clear copper with a slightly off white head. Lots of citrus and floral hops in the aroma. Taste is very much on the hoppy side, with citrus/grapefruit qualities balanced with light caramel maltiness. Nice crisp bite in the palate and a lingering, bitter finish.
Nebulor (109), , California, USA Feb 20, 2009 Nice crisp hop aroma of pine and pine needles.
Poured a clear light iced tea color with a copper hue. Frothy white head with some action and no sediment, this was a twist off bomber.
Great complexity of flavors including pine and pine needles and maybe some tangerine. The malts are blended within and have hints of caramel and maybe grain (barley).
Medium bodied, very resinous, with lively yet soft carbonation.
Great blend of hops, says 43 different hops on the bottle. As a courtesy I think they should have a born on date since this bomber had a twist off cap, they do not keep the freshness as long as the solid sealed caps. MoritzF (4859), Bochum, Germany Feb 18, 2009 (35.5cl bottle) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sweet cara-malty and slightly toasted aroma with biscuits and a delicate hoppy touch with lemon-fruity and slightly woody notes. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Aromatic and complex malt-character with notes of biscuits, caramel, licorice and subtle fruity and woody hoppy accents. Almost dry, malty finish with a good bitterness-sweetness ratio and light to moderate but aromatic hops (18.II.09). Beerman6686 (1264), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 15, 2009 This poured a nice copper color with a big fluffy white head. Aroma was bittering hops and some mlatiness as well. Flavor was some what bitter, but not much of hop flavor, but sweet malts instead. Not a bad beer, but not too great for an IPA
