Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 21, 2009 Clear orange red. Frothy head. Sweet hop aroma. A wet smell that’s not sticky. Soft hops upfront that provides for a wet bitter background. Some kind of tart fruit in the taste. Almost like kumquat or dry grapefruit. Finish is wetter than expected and not distastefully bitter. Better than anticipated. Elwood (665), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Oct 20, 2009 Serving: Draft.
Appearance: Light copper color with a pillowy, off-white head. Decent head retention and good lacing left behind.
Aroma: Nice pine hop nose with citrus and dark honey notes.
Flavor: A big pine hop wallop up front. It quickly fades, leaving behind orange citrus, herbal, and grass notes.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light, dry mouthfeel and a medium, hoppy finish. Lighter in body than I was expecting.
Overall: A lighter, but solid IPA. The light body and dryness make this one extremely sessionable. A nice take on the style. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Oct 20, 2009 Bottle split with Pat. Pours a dark hazy orange body with nice white head. The aroma is delicious hop. The mouth feel is medium and great. The taste is filled with flavors of citrus hop, with a smooth, crisp finish. dionysus (95), Arizona, USA Oct 19, 2009 Bottle pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma smells of oranges, caramel, and what seems like peanut brittle. Brittle characteristic not present in the flavor, primarily just caramel, orange, and mango. Starts sweet and finishes slightly dry. Not a bad IPA, but there are plenty of better ones out there. Completely lacks complexity when it comes to mouthfeel. patrickfannon (273), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 17, 2009 Bottle. 12 oz. Pours murky amber. Aroma of hops, malt, barley, and citrus. Medium body, with a smooth finish. Great IPA. Braincage1 (137), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Darker amber color topped by a thin white head. Light sweet orange hop aroma reminds me of jolly ranchers and indeed the flavor starts off very sweet and fruity...then some caramel malts and an easy short bitter finish. Crisp and refreshing and not overwhelming on the hops. fidel (886), Livermore, California, USA Oct 14, 2009 Poured orangish amber, clean and balanced, caramel malts, citrus hops, slightly floral. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 11, 2009 [2495-20090926] Tap. Navel orange hops aroma is a little grainy. Slightly hazy, orange amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet navel orange hops flavour has grainy bitter hops. Medium body is bitter. Wow, awesome game beer.
