arondee (176), Tucson, Arizona, USA Sep 6, 2008 Poured orange/red with a medium sized foamy white head. It smells of fruit, citrus, a little bit of hops. Taste is not very bitter, kind of an earthy hop taste. The aftertaste doesn’t linger long and this would make a good session beer. It seems like it missing something that could make it even better. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours a copper orange with a one finger creamy light yellow head. The nose was very resinous and hoppy, sweet, citrusy, lightly piny and earthy, spicy, mandarin orange. The flavor is mostly earthy herbal hops, lightly citrusy, some pink grapefruit. The mouthfeel could have been more substantial. maugus4ever (121), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours copper with a thin off-white head. Has a sweet fruity aroma. Nice flavor that has a little more malt than I expected for this IPA, but the hops balance out these malts nicely and leave you with a bitter finish. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Sep 3, 2008 pours a copper amber with mild head, light hop citrus aroma. Light on the palate and bitterness, citrus on the back, good stuff. drjay44 (758), Salida, Colorado, USA Sep 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice head, pleasant golden copper color, nose of spice, bit of pine, with malt overtones, initial tastes of spice, then hop bitterness. kpresley77 (133), Jackson, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle pours clear amber with thin white head. Aroma is sweet malt. First taste is sweet fruit and malt with slight hops bitterness which balances out. There is a mild citruis hops finish and the carbonation is perfect. This one of my top five beers. rthbass (27), Vancouver, Washington, USA Aug 31, 2008 On tap at Mcmenamins on the Columbia.
Pours medium amber in color with an off-white head and very clear. Very unique flavor. The hops are good and definitely there as well as a nice cinnamon spice note. Very interesting ginger soy sauce flavor. Not my first choice for an IPA but points for originality! Lagunitasfan (432), San Diego, California, USA Aug 31, 2008 Updated: Dec 27, 2008Not a fresh bottle. Had to pour slowly to keep the quarter inch of sediment down. Dark amber. Almost no head because of cautious pour. Lots of great flavors. Pine, citrus, bitter, yummmmmmmy.
