Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 28, 2008 Coppery orange, small white head. Great aroma - resin, pine, sticky hops. Flavor is, as one might guess, dominated by hops - resiny and sticky, but also nice notes of grapefruit and, uh, more grapefruit? Really hop dominated, and I really liked it. WBF, Raleigh. kimcgolf (822), Dacula, Georgia, USA Apr 26, 2008 Updated: Nov 29, 2008Had on tap at McCray’s. Poured to a yellowish gold color, unlike the orange copper I was expecting. The anticipated citrusy nose and flavor were there, but slightly muted, as was the bitterness of the mouthfeel. This all led to a medium length, slightly bitter flavor which was nice and smooth. Not a bad beer at all, but still below other Lagunitas offerings.
GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Apr 24, 2008 Nice straightforward IPA. Rich hop flavor and aroma. I like their Maximus IPA a little more, but I suppose that’s neither here nor there--good beer! OleR (2007), Oslo, Norway Apr 23, 2008 12 oz bottle. A slight unclear deep golden colored beer with a fully diminishing near-white head. Fresh fruity and hoppy aroma; sweet grapefruit, tangerines and tropical. Grassy, light piney hops. Notes of peppermint and sweet nutty malts.Taste is not that complex, but has fine distinct bitterness and leaves some likeable flavors of citrus and refined malts. Lasting fruity-bitter finish. Loveable.
ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Apr 22, 2008 Clear light copper fluffy white head a some slight spotted lace. Pine and yeast on the nose. Lots of citrus hops with a clean bitter finish
Veer (355), Landskrona, Sweden Apr 21, 2008 Aroma: smells marvellous, pine, fresh as hell, lovely. Raspberry, pineapple, sweet malt. Dominated by fresh sourish superpiny exotic hops.
Flavour: nice, sourish, fruity, malty backbone. Pleasant hopbitterness, brackish.
Appearance: nice, clear orange body with fluffy & lathery white head.
Palate: harsh, acrid but smooth. Seems alkalic. Brix (371), Denmark Apr 19, 2008 Tasted 2008-04-19. Pours hazy, orange with white head. Aroma: Sweet, toffee. Flavour: sweet, very bitter. Very tasty. Me likes! willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Apr 13, 2008 20080413 Bomber. Mostly clear golden color with sticky, lasting, small white head. Aroma is mild citrus, some earthy/grassy notes, and tea. The body is thinner than I’d like, almost zero astringency, some decent finishing bitterness. Flavors of iced tea with lemon, mildly grassy/pithy hops, lightly solvent. Compared to the other CA IPA standards like Stone, Pelican, Bear Repub, Alpine, Sierra nevada, and on and on and on , this one doesn’t hold a candle. Meh, I’m probably overrating.
