Citrusy and resiny aroma. Quite sweet and malty with a nice balance of grapefruit leaning hops that have a little pine too. Ends bitter and refreshing. Medium body with small bubbles. Very balanced and tasty IPA, just how I like it. (3.7) Rerate: Draught at 99 Bottles. third time that I*ve had this on tap since my initial rating, and every time has been underwhelming. To thin, and the hips just feel a bit castrated. Still not one that I would turn down, but a bit below par for a Norcal IPA. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Poured copper with a small fluffy off white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. There wasn’t as much hop character as in the aroma. Wasn’t bad. Good balance of hops and malt. Some citrus hints. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours a honey-golden/amber, moderately effervescent, under a thick, off-white head which holds long and spackle my glass with lace. Floral, piney hops coat the nose along with a suggestion of lemongrass above just a hint of dishwater. A bit bland and mineralish at first, but hops crawl out as it warms (not to the point where I can distinguish one from another of the "43 different" mentioned above, but overall piney, grapefruity and grassy with a touch of pepper to linger.) Not overdone and fairly sessionable. And I am not one to session IPAs.
BTW, glancing 5 ratings below... any low ratings for any beer can be understood by simply reading the ratings!

Quite a bit of soft carbonation. Aroma of some pine and resin hops. Taste is nice, good bitterness throughout, and a distinctive citrus sour thing going on in the finish. Nice IPA. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Poured a hazy gold with little head. malts and oak dominate the nose. Taste is similar with a bit of flowery hops. A bit too sweet. Finishes a bit syrupy. This bottle is obviously over the hill for the hops to stand out. IEBAILI (123), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Deep gold color, small barely off white head dissolves quickly. Smells like crystal malts, some stone fruit, slightly sweet, fruity, hop bitterness is somewhat sharp and lasts for a moment after swallowing. A liitle citrus pith on the finish. It is my favorite beer period. Assertive hops taste, but still balanced withthe malt. The low ratings may be the result of what seemed to be bad bottles several years ago. I just wish it was available in the part of SoCal where I live.
