bottle, mollie stone’s palo alto, ca rob897 (62), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 25, 2007 The Lagunita sales rep brought a keg of this to my local pub and had a beer tasting event.
Good IPA, nice smooth flavor and decent finish. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 18, 2007 Light piney aroma. Copper color. Flavor has some pine and a little citrus with some sweet malt balance. A balanced WC IPA. Extremely drinkable. Not too heavy. Rather sessionable. I drank a 6 pack before the Seahawks - Niners game! Very good. patrick820 (69), San Luis Obispo, California, USA Oct 16, 2007 Updated: Aug 15, 2008Cloudy amber color, flavor is dominated by pine, with some citrus hops, and some maltiness for balance, one of my favorite IPAs Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Oct 16, 2007 (Green) Bottle 355 ml
Appearance : Clear standard amber , medium creamy top. Nose : Good clan classic west coast hops . Well planned – citric mango like hops with greener backing. Harmonus. Flavour/Palate : Medium soft bodied that goes well with hop-fruit character. Quiet balanced as IPA can go. Soft malty finish with clean refreshing end. Satisfying brew.
fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2007 bottle, liquorloft Tallahassee. I’m a big hop fan but i don’t know if theres 43 hops in this beer. not complaining, the nose and taste of this beer scream hops. aroma is strong citrus, grapefruit. taste is a strong malt back bone with a heavy hoppping, citrus, pine and floral. fantastic bitter and hop follow up after swallowing. i prefer a bitter bite with my hops so this beer gives me everything i ask for. Wulfstan (509), California, USA Oct 9, 2007 Updated: Nov 21, 2007I shall preface: I am not an IPA person or lover of single-minded emphasis on hops (although, ironically, I do really like some IPAs & even Double IPAs); I instead like full-bodied, more malty beers like strong ales, barleywine, etc. Therefore, I am not necessarily a good indicator if this is a good IPA. That said, this is all grapefruit to me & while it is somewhat drinkable, I do not like this much at all. It is fairly pale amber with a good white head and decent lacing. It smells predominantly of grapefruit and little else. The aroma is not misleading: it tastes almost entirely of grapefruit, too. It’s taste at first is not overly bitter or hoppy, giving the briefest impression that it will be more balanced, but this almost instantly becomes all hops. While it is not exceedingly bitter or piney, this beer’s entire character, taste, and aroma are of unsweetened grapefruit membrane. For some, I understand, this is great, but for me, I don’t think this even tastes like beer. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Oct 9, 2007 Poured draft from Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY. Orange in color, light head. Smells of sweet hops, but not really overpowering. Just right. Nice, chewy mouthfeel, great IPA flavor. Comparable to Dogfishhead 60-minute IPA. This is an excellent example of the style.
