Pours a murky golden amber color with a thick off-white head. The foamy head lasted quite a while. Nice lacing as well. Floral hops aroma. Flavor is very citrusy, and the hops are really not as bold as the glass progresses. Nicely bitter finish. Doesn't have the "snap you with a wet towel" hops that the great IPAs have but otherwise this beer is just fine. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada

Malt-fruity aroma. Bitter orange tones in flavour with a bitter malty ending. Moderate palate. Good drinkability, but a bit one dimensional for an IPA (30.05.2008). austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2002 A shockingly bitter IPA that wallops you with hops from the first sip. After I recovered, I discovered other more subtle malt tones that made for a very pleasant, woody finish. beerinmarch (2810), Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2004 Pours a nice amber color with a silky white head that leaves moderate lacing. Nice fresh hopped aroma. The hops carry through in the taste nicely with a good bitterness towards the end. Nice crisp taste. Slightly acidic taste afterward, but still a nice brew. Citrusy, flowery, spicy, and aromatic. Even a little sourness, almost lactic in nature. Solid IPA for sure, but it's kind of lacking that extra depth. after4ever (2773), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2007 12-oz. Pours a crystal-clear rubied medium amber with towering white bubbles that fall to film and spotty lace within a minute or so. Smells pretty good--gentle citurs, kinda orangey. Light body and carb make for a pretty mild attack; it picks up some bitter resin and maybe even a dab of pine for the finish. I had myself worked up into expecting more of a sueprstar based on the Maximus, but this is a tasty little sessionable-ish IPA. DuffMan (2764), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
