This one was a solid hit, big and bitter, decent malt as well. My pick over Brooklyn brewery, but just behind Winterfish. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2006 12oz bottle. Clear golden color with light red hue. Thin white head. Nice malt and pine hop aroma. Nearly balanced mix of malts and hops. Some mild caramel malts give way to piney hop bitterness that run up the flavor. This beer isn’t too hoppy but just about right for a standard IPA. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2004 A very nice golden appearance, with a big frothy head. Toasted malts, in the aroma, and strange unplaceable hop aroma. Very crisp, but full of toasted malt and it is just hard to get around. Slightly inconsistent from taste to taste. The hops are very present but then disappear in the next sip. So that was kind of irritating. Other than that a solid example of a west coast style IPA. Suttree (2742), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Coppery orange, small white head. Great aroma - resin, pine, sticky hops. Flavor is, as one might guess, dominated by hops - resiny and sticky, but also nice notes of grapefruit and, uh, more grapefruit? Really hop dominated, and I really liked it. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2004 12oz Bottle: Slight hoppy aroma, but not too much to speak of. Dark copper/brown color. Lots of floaters! Nice light colored head that lasted. Good lacing. Flavor much like an English IPA (true to style). Started off hoppy, but was also a bit sweet. Easy to drink. Overall, a pretty good IPA, but I prefer more of an APA style with more bitterness. Nuffield (2724), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2002 I split a large bottle of this with my mother-in-law, and since she is a pretty cool mother-in-law, she really liked this. Without being too careful in pouring, it produced a huge head. The aroma was interesting--I thought it had a martini or Gin & Tonic-like aroma, plus something fruity--someone else has said mango, and that may be right. The flavor is well...IPA...you know...hoppy, somewhat (but not overpoweringly) bitter. Not complex, but nice. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA

Very nice hop flavor with medium bitterness and some citrsy notes; aftertaste is slighlty bitter. notalush (2685), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2004 This is quite a fruity IPA, from the aroma of citrus and berries, to the strawberry color, to the abundant flavors of strawberries, cherries (do I detect a hint of raspberry?) - quite unique and odd - moderate hops and a strong, biscuit-like malt backbone for the fruit flavors to play off of - a unique experience - expect a malty ESB rather than an IPA, though.
