Commercial Description:
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you're on.

Bottle. Very clean citrus/pine hop aroma. Transparent copper color with big frothy pale tan head. Start is watery. Finish is pretty weak and thin. There are some perfumey floral tasting hops in the middle, but they fail to capture my attention. A fair amount of malts, but they do not add too much either. Too benign for me.

20080413 Bomber. Mostly clear golden color with sticky, lasting, small white head. Aroma is mild citrus, some earthy/grassy notes, and tea. The body is thinner than I’d like, almost zero astringency, some decent finishing bitterness. Flavors of iced tea with lemon, mildly grassy/pithy hops, lightly solvent. Compared to the other CA IPA standards like Stone, Pelican, Bear Repub, Alpine, Sierra nevada, and on and on and on , this one doesn’t hold a candle. Meh, I’m probably overrating.

Metallic golden-orange body with faint pale suspended particles and a scattering white head. Very bright, fresh green hop aroma with notes of candied citrus, apricot, and a lightly sweet pale malt backing. Sweet fruity hop flavor melds with fresh pale malts and a light toasty edge. Medium-high tongue-numbing bitterness. Overall impression is a little too sweet, but still very solid.

Strong hop aroma with mild citrus notes. pours honey orange. My bottle was swamped with yeast residue. Appropriate mouthfeel for the style. Well managed hops at 45.6 IBU, but I think my bottle was too old cause it just tasted unfresh.

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Deep copper pour with a thick and foamy tan head. Aroma isn’t as hoppy as I expected it to be, but still had a decent mix of floral and bitterness. The flavor is very peppery and hoppy, but not too overpowering, with a smooth maltiness that takes over the middle of the beer and a slightly bitter hop finish. Aftertaste is quite bitter, floral, hoppy, and has some citrus even. Very nice and smooth IPA.

Bottled. Hazy brownish coloured with a medium sized head. A bit malty and sweet. Hoppy, piney and somewhat flowery. A bit too mild though.

A copper/amber color out of the bottle with a thin, lasting off-white head. Subtle floral hop nose. My first impression is that the body seems a little thin. There are lots of hops in this, with a grapefruit rind bitter finish, but needs more malt support. Tastey and easy to drink.
