Typical, yet not that typical left coast IPA. I expect more from the west, gettin less though. Same piney, grapefruit, apricot, and light caramel up the nose canal. Flavor mirrors, but really just plain boring. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Like I said...it’s aw-aiigt and worth a try at least once. BillKismet (1945), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Bronze with consistent carbonated bubbles feeding a thin, but resilient head. Floral hop aroma with slices of peach and apricot, and orange marmalade with a deep musk overhang, then a last dash of grapefruit and catbox. Easy hop flavor with a sold malt backbone. This one has been fridged for a year, so that may have subdued the hops a bit. Well balanced, with a mild refrain of bitterness. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2001 A typical IPA hopmonster with a nice, very citrusy malt balance. Lacks body, though, and seems watery. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2005 Beautiful hazy and deep copper color with a creamy, sudsy and graying head. Big fresh hops jump out of the glass accompanied later by grass, papaya and grapefruit. A very inundating hops accentuated aroma. Flavor proceeds as lighter than expected. Caramel, nectarines, honey and sugar basking grapefruit. A little thin on the palate. Reserved but balanced. Finishes like honey soaked diluted hops. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2007 Slightly darker amber with a moderately large head, decent lacing and retention. Aroma is PNW hops, I got Amarillo here mostly, probably Cascade, and also the usual caramel. Flavor brings this and focuses heavily on bitterness instead of hop flavor, which I didn’t like. The aroma was about a 7.5/10 and the flavor was a 6.5/10 so I gave them each 7s. An enjoyable IPA, but there was nothing special here. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2004 Pours clear orange with a thick cream colored head. Moderately hoppy aroma with some maltiness poking through. Taste is fairly light but decent. Some earthiness, mild citrus. Overall, good but a little thin compared to some of my favorite IPA’s. travita (1926), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Orangish in color with a decent head. Hoppy smell with floral and citus notes. Flavor has the same with some grassiness. The beer seemed like it was laking in something though. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 21, 2004 This poured a dark orange into the PBR sniffer glass. The smell is off, it smells like wet laundry hosed down with Orange Clean. It tastes flat with only a slight amount of bitterness. Its mostly sour and has a sort of chalky aftertaste. The palate is a bit thin on this. Not too impressed.
