Quality is apparent at first sip. Awesome. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 1, 2002 Outstanding! Not the most bitter IPA (45 IBU’s) but great character and complexity (65 malts/43 hops). Crisp refreshing citric bitterness noticeable throughout forcing its way through in a long lingering finish. Malts are sensational without being overwhelming. Mild biscuity pale ale character turns into a fruit juice cocktail of pineappple, peach nectar and orange juice. Citric grapefruit in the finish although not strong for the style. Touch of spice briefly finishes things off before relaxing into the mellow malts and citric aftertaste. Proof that IPA’s can be great without bringing tears to your eyes. emacgee (1872), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Pours a copper orange with a one finger creamy light yellow head. The nose was very resinous and hoppy, sweet, citrusy, lightly piny and earthy, spicy, mandarin orange. The flavor is mostly earthy herbal hops, lightly citrusy, some pink grapefruit. The mouthfeel could have been more substantial. marcus (1864), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2008 This orange ale poured with a thin beige head. It’s a typical IPA, with plenty of hop bitterness and aroma and a balancing malt presence. There is some carbonation and a bit of citrus in the finish. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2007 POurs a hazy orange with a small white head. Smells of some floral citrus and hops. Not a huge hop presence, but its there. Some grapefruit too. The taste is semi-mild, kind of a sweet hoppiness to it. Some cinnamon and other spices show up. Some grapefruit citrus arrives from the hops. Nicely balanced and fairly easy to drink. Nice job on this beer. Kind of a fruitier IPA. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2005 Clear salmon tinted orange with a beautiful, full head of creamy foam. Butter and caramel, with loads of hop resin in the aroma, spruce and medicine jar. Malt is very lush and bold, creamy and full with a rich caramel, toffee and fruit flavor and I believe there may be some diecetyl, but in a desireable way. The hops are spicy and piney and could stand to be kicked up a notch or two, to be honest. I find it quite nice. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2003 Pours a nice light amber-red with good head. Floral aroma with citrus and hops. Nice fruity taste with hints of pine, and a pleasant hop finish. Silky palate. A very decent IPA, not enough hops for me though.
