It is hard not to compare this to Lagunitas Maximus as it is very similar. Head is not as white and intense, but still attractive. The color is a unique red/gold/orange amber. Good hoppy flavor and nice finish. This to me is what an IPA is supposed be like. Great balance, and simply a very well crafted brew. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 21, 2005 Courtesy of Pailhead. Pours light copper with film for head. Aroma is very muted floral/citrus hops. Flavor, also muted, is mostly caramel with a little hop presence in finish. Decent, but lacks in aroma and flavor. Marsiblursi (1646), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 1, 2006 (Bottle at home) Pours a bit hazy light amber with a small white head. Oily, spicy hop aroma. Sweet barley. Ripe fruits and raisins. Taste: pretty sharp bitterness with a menthol-ish endig. Not as sweet as the smell. Pine/grapy hop flavor. Citrus peels. Special and wierd. Small to medium body. NachlamSie (1642), Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2006 bottle. Hazy copper pour with a receding head. The aroma is nice. Very spicy with pine notes throughtout and some grapefruit, solid for the style. Obviously an IPA in the flavorAll of the characteristics present boldly scream india pale ale: pine, grapefruit, caramel. The problem is lack of balance. The hops come across as semi-chalky and the malts could stand to be more robust. Definitely a textbook ipa, but does not come across as anything that exceeds par for the course. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2006 It’s been awhile since I had an IPA, so I was rather suprised by this slightly above average IPA. The aroma was noticeable but it didn’t really have much in the way of making a big splash. It had some citrus notes but they were fairly muted. The appearance had a nice fluffy head and an orangish hue that was slightly hazy. Mouthfeel was full and round. Flavor was intriguing as I don’t think I’ve had an IPA this sweet. It wasn’t overly sweet for my liking and it had a nice balance of malt and hops. I was enjoying this because it wasn’t overly bitter so I might say this is even a pale ale and not an IPA but that’s just my opinion. An enjoyable IPA that I’d buy again if it’s on sale. kiefdog (1609), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Bottle, shared by Taylor. Thanks dude. Golden orange with a small white head. Nice floral hoppy nose. Flavor is bitter- earth and pine, and a slight buffalo chicken wing thing. Really strange. Bitter finish. Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber color, not much of a head but has decent lacing. Aroma is more malty than hops. The mouth feel is very malty also . Not much hop bite in flavor, nor in the aftertaste. Not a great representative of an IPA compared to the other great ones out there.
