Flavor also of piney hops with some sweet malt in the background. Even though this is all hops its not excessivly bitter. TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA

tilted towards the hops in favor of
the malt. Appearance is nice though
cloudy. Again. Beerman6686 (1292), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 15, 2009 This poured a nice copper color with a big fluffy white head. Aroma was bittering hops and some mlatiness as well. Flavor was some what bitter, but not much of hop flavor, but sweet malts instead. Not a bad beer, but not too great for an IPA guzzler67 (1285), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Clear, deep amber appearance with an average size, white head and good lacing. Resinous hop aroma. Ample, sweet, caramel malt backbone allows the huge variety of hops to bounce around and develop flavors of grapefruit, orange, pine and herbs. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Bitter, lingering finish. Could be a good everyday IPA, if you like piney hops. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Updated: Jun 20, 2006From bottle. Hearty orange amber pour with an even, medium off-white head. Cleansing fresh aroma of grapfruit citrus and orchid blossoms, all balanced by a semi-sweet brown sugar and prune maltiness. Smooth, slightly creamy texture that slides across the tongue delicately, rather than pierce it brutally with its hoppy talons. The hops take hold of the palate at first, allowing a soft white grapefruit to scrub the tongue clean. From there, this brew’s softer side takes over, allowing some flavors of wheat toast and raisin to enter the picture. Final smack of delicate grapefruit rind. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Smells and tastes of big apple and grape. Well balanced with a slight and pleasant bitter bite. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Not an IPA I would buy. Signature off, Lagunitas nose. Boring and oxidized finish very bland pale ale, not an IPA. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 15, 2002 This is a good example of what I perceive to be a West Coast style IPA, loads of hops balanced by some caramel malts. Good, but I found it a little thin in body for the hopping level and a little heavy in the bittering hops compared to the flavor/aroma hops. I’m nitpicking here, this is a good IPA, just a notch below sweetwater and the sublime bell’s two hearted.
