| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Pours a clear, bright gold with a rocky off-white head. Aroma of mild citrusy hops. Flavor is rich but rather mild, with a thick, doughy malt bill offset by grapefruit, pine and peppery hops. Neither side of the equation dominates; this is a superbly drinkable, well-balanced beer, even if it is weak by the American IPA standard. Frank (1067), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2005 It looks like this was bottle conditioned but carefully poured, it’s crystal clear and glowing orange w/ a rapidly diminishing head of large bubbles. The nose is wonderful--incredibly floral w/ a pinch of citrus and some bready goodness underneath it all. The flavor doesn’t hold up, however--somewhat watery and lacking the sticky sweetness and intense bitterness that make a great IPA. There is an interesting ice tea thing going on though so it’s not a total wash. elihapa (1066), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2009 Pours orange. Aroma is indistinct of malt and flowery hops. I am guilty of trying Hop Stoopid before this, which in retrospect is an obvious mistake. Comparatively, this IPA comes out too bland, too muddy, too inferior when sizing up Hop Stoopid. I suppose taken alone it is not all that bad: just more caramelly-red fruit fruit than I would like out of an IPA. The bitterness does come in at the finish, but rather passively and inharmoniously. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA

Sweet malt start, hoppy middle and a grapefruit bitter finish. Not my favorite, but a damn good IPA in it’s own right. bigrond (1053), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
