Flavor is "easy" and balanced, a piney hop flavor with mint, and lemon. Palate is somewhat smooth and malty. Thanks to Mitch for this Brew, my 300th on RateBeer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Beautifully crafted hop nose is balanced nicely with undertones of caramel malts. Fizzy carbonation leads to surprisingly little bitterness and a somewhat watery start. The caramel malts I was looking foward too are rather diminished, even as the IPA warms. The hops are much more pronounced in the finish though, leaving a lasting bitter impression. A good start, but needs more "oomph" for the lack of a better descriptor. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 25, 2006 A surprising and unfortunately average offering from Lagunitas. Looks and smells like an IPA, but the taste is flat. Enjoyably hoppy, but flat. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA

Hoppy, but not overwhelming, and enough citrus tones to convey the necessary message. Very drinkable at 5.7%, too. frylock (1024), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2004 Sweet and toasty malt aroma with a citric hop undertone. Sweet and malty with some caramel upfrotn. Some fruit and hops in the finish. Too heavy on the malts for an IPA roder60 (1023), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Pours a hazy orange with a small amount of foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and mild citrus hops. Mouthfeel is a bit light and watery. Flavor a bit dry and slightly bitter and mild hop finish. Overall, just a mediocre ipa. cking (1023), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2007 Citrus and juicy malt aromas that are very faint for this style. The aroma gets a touch more floral as the beer warms up, but it’s still rather faint. Rich copper pour with a lasting 1/4" white head that leaves much lacing around the glass. Thick and smooth on the palate with a strong bitter hop bite, very nice. Flavor is considerably more bitter than I would have guessed based on the mild aromas. Hoppy and spicy, not too much citrus gets past the strong bitterness. Good malt profile, could be more prolific. Decent brew, not overly impressive but I found it to be enjoyable every time I’ve had it. jah noth (1016), Rochester, New York, USA
