Sweet malt, light hop floral tone also noticed, quite sniffable, sweet malt start, the top moderate in feel. Finish has a definite acidic bite, the hops potent in their spicy bite, dry and long lasting aftertaste. A great beer from a great brewery got a couple of its bigger brother aging away, and that would be “Maximus”!

Alhough balanced a bit on the hops side, this not a problem at all - the interesting malt flavors are there to enjoy. A very good IPA. 211Gramma99 (38), Chico, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2002 the six pack i had was very well carbonated. the head from a very slow easy pour down the side of the glass was stronger than the head of a root beer float, pretty damn strong! intense fruity hop aroma and intense hop bitterness in the finish. a hint of malt sneaks through but does not do much. what i will remember about this beer was the huge head, not the flavor. wilkie (1192), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is very hoppy, with a bit of pine and grapefruit. Flavor is similar, with a decent malk backbone and caramel. Excellent beer. Hopistotle420 (1178), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2005 Floral piney, tea nose. Very lovely honey amber, with particles in suspension. Small whitish head dalmost completely disappears, yet leaves nice lacing. Earthy, fainttly caramel malts, woody, medium body, great mouthfeel, more earthen dusty hops, with a resinous finish. A darn nice brew I must say. Well balanced I must say. sloth (1683), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

Nose is a bit grassy, piney and a hint citrusy. Medium bodied, crisp on the palate. Dry maltiness, biscuity with inky, piney hop flavors balancing the malts out. Medium acidity and a touch resiny. Finish is dry, a touch fruity with a clean hop bite. An easy drinkin IPA. Solid. Props to jake65 for the bomber! beerbumble (42), Reno, Nevada, USA
